What I am (and others are) saying is give it until the window for your own health. If you want. Or don't.

If you don't want to - entirely your choice - then you can't blame people for saying "maybe wait until something is not possible before getting annoyed about it not happening". Especially when it involves things that we have 3% knowledge of (and 0.5% of the global picture of what is going on at the club).

From my angle, genuinely, it comes from making sure fellow fans aren't getting all hot and bothered over things they have little control over and equally little knowledge of.

Yeah I'm beyond getting actually angry about anything transfer related (and largely Spurs related tbh). Been worn down over the years and try to be philosophical about it instead. I'm actually really excited about watching some attacking football this season and am trying to look on the bright side and assume we'll get the CB situation sorted in an adequate way, even if it's slow.

It's more just...weird. Am curious about why we're doing things this way and can't seem to pin down a signing for such an obvious weakness in the squad. Not sure what on earth Levy and the brain trust are thinking.

This really should have been sorted before pre season, before Maddison, before any other signing. We leaked 60 goals last season and so far we are going into the season with the same back line.

It's actually a worse backline given we don't have Lenglet anymore....

I said when people were overly hyped after pulling in Vicario, Maddison and Solomon early that this was identical to last season when we brought in Bissouma, Richarlisson and Peresic early. Whilst it was addressing some problems Bissouma and Peresic were done quickly just like Maddison and Solomon because they represented excellent value that we wouldn't lose money on, and we still failed to address the main problem which was at CB. I said I wasn't getting excited or believing things were different now because we have all seen this before and at the end of the window we failed to get the main priority position covered.

It seems we are always looking for value for money rather than addressing main priorities and this has been on going since the levy regime. We scored plenty of goals last season. Leaking goals is why we missed CL!

@Trix any idea what the actual issue is though? We brought players in other positions, so it doesn’t seem to be money related. It makes little sense to think we’re not actively looking for a CN. Is it purely indecisiveness at the board level that superseded the wishes of managers?
Is it we have a x amount of defenders on the books already and we’re just not keen to add more without selling?

Or has dier and others got a contract agreement to play every game?

And Davies is now even older and no faster, so why do you think now suddenly when playing a higher line will we suddenly be better at stopping a faster counter with slow CBs and factoring in we’ll be playing with very high fullbacks?

Firstly that’s not what I’m saying I’m just saying its a possibility as a result of hiring a manager the prioritises attacking football. It’s possible we concede less goals next season. It’s possible we sign a CB next week and he’s brilliant or shit or a million things inbetween.

I don’t even know what the disagreement is here. We all agree we need a CB, we all agree, like with any signing the earlier the better, I’m just challenging the writing everything off because of the timing of one signing, albeit in a important area.

We're not scoring 140 goals next season.

It is the same every single year. No planning, no scouting, just opportune buys at the end of the window and then we wonder why we’ve got such a bloated squad. I've told you what I think over and over. We get the ones done where we think we are getting good vfm. When it comes to paying the fee for players we want from teams that won't drop the price we haggle and haggle until the point one side just says fuck this I'm out.
