That is a bit odd, to be fair.
He didn't look too restricted at all compared to my own experience with a hammy, he honestly looked to be moving really freely on it and not at all what I'd have expected to see.

Interesting that it was posted and now deleted but I don't want to get over excited about him returning sooner...

The video is still up on Twitter

I'm not sure Dier is that far behind Romero and is certainly more disciplined. His long balls are better but he lacks a bit of pace admittedly. It's VDV we'll miss the most, like Walker he can recover from any mistake. Hopefully Phillips will step up, it's worth a look I think rather than Dier/Hojbjerg.

There is a world of difference mate.

Romero makes everything look so easy IF he can manage his temper he could be unbelievable.

Eric great guy, his not good enough in, pace, on the ball, defending.

That's the key. If he doesn't learn to control his temper it becomes a real problem. Opposing players will learn what triggers his temper and he's toast. He needs to work out a way of responding by winding them up than reacting himself.

The video is still up on the OS, has to be encouraging that he's already at that stage and the fact they are sticking it on the OS.

Maybe Newcastle 2nd weekend in December will be a bit too soon. If so then I'm not so concerned until we play Brighton late December. Those are the big games I'm most concerned about having him back for. Sounds like 5-6 weeks and he's 1 week in. The international break helps take off about 2 weeks as well. All things considering doesn't seem so bad.

I'm afraid this aggregator is spreading misinformation and I want to put it straight so people don't get their hopes up.

Grade 2 is not typically 3 weeks as this aggregator suggests. A Grade 2 recovery is anything from 4 weeks up to 8 weeks, in Micky's case more likely towards the latter given O'Keefe has said it's borderline 3 which means it was a severe 2.

Grade 3 would be 8-12 weeks or potentially more, depending on the complexity of the tear and surgery requirements.

If that's the case then I apologise for posting . Saw O keefes name and the original tweet from him and thought that was good enough..

Not your fault mate and to be fair to O'Keefe all he said was VdV has a grade 2, borderline 3.

The aggregator clearly went on google and just posted recovery times from what they saw there but got it wrong.

There is a PL physio in my family so I have learnt quite a bit about injuries over the past 10 years and received advice for my own hamstring injuries (among others!)

I thought grade 3 meant that it had been torn from the bone, if so how can something be borderline 3. It’s either grade 3 or not surely?

8 weeks would be New Year’s Day. I think we would all take that now. Reminded me of when Michael Owen wrecked his hamstring. Looked bloody painful.
It’s not this injury that’s killed us, it’s the fact that Romero got sent off as well. Ange needs to get into him and sort him out.

I'd have to check this out to be 100% sure but my understanding is this isn't the case. You CAN have a Grade 3 where the muscle is torn from the bone but that doesn't always happen. You can either completely tear the muscle OR tear it AND rip the muscle off the bone.

If the muscle is ripped off the bone you'd have surgery and in athletes cases they sometimes have surgery anyway to expedite recovery/help prevent future issues.

So when they say borderline Grade 3, from what I understand that means VdV has a tear of the muscle but it hasn't come off the bone.

So what you're saying is that he has a grade 2.5 tear but not a tear 🤔

Needs leaders on the pitch to wind him in when he is losing it also. It was clear as day Vs the chavs the red card was coming.
