By a world class player. Best CM in the Prem.
I think he has the potential for that

But he's yet to fully put it all together consistently enough to be considered world class or indeed the best in the league I feel

If he can play like he did last year more often and help create more chances and even score a few himself (getting greedy now) without having to take excessive tocheas or time to release the ball then he will reach that level I'm sure

As of now though he holds himself back by slowing the play down at times and not seeing or at leaSt not executing the foward lass quickly enough

He's 29, he isn't going to fulfill his potential at this stage of his career IMO.

Maybe not but if he can just reach the levels he did last year and has occasionally this season and maintain them more consistently that will be more than enough

Perhaps the best thing to do is have someone next to him who is an easy off load and that that someone can play the quick incisive passing we need from our midfield

That was the challenge I wanted him to answer this season. I think he reached his peak last season, I'll be very happy if he proves me wrong.

He's still has done really well, hopefully his injury and suspicion riddled start to the season played some part in his slight drop, think he should have a massive year next year.

ask Kante if he felt better after the Chelsea game. Got completely overun by VW and Dembers
Yep. The only game I've seen where Kante's been dominated. Doesn't mean I think Dembele is better than Kante individually (as I'll explain later)

I'm sure you can pull up a ton of stats to 'prove' that Kante is the better player but in my humble onion, Dembele is a more complete central midfielder than Kante and has the significantly added bonus of being able to relieve pressure on the side through his strength on the ball and ability to go past players with ease.

Kante might be the ball winner extraordinaire in this league but from what I've seen of him his all round game isn't as strong as Dembele's.

Admittedly Moussa doesn't get as many assists or goals as he should but as a number of tactically astute commentators have described that's not his expected role in this side. When fully fit, I honestly can't think of a player I'd prefer in his position. He has monstered so many teams in the last two seasons.

Strength, agility, technique, dribbling and coolness under pressure. He doesn't get the credit he deserves imo though probably because of the lack of goals. A top, top player nonetheless.

You never gave a reason for Kante being better to be fair.

I think Leicester last season to this would go a long way to proving his point. Not to mention how good Chelsea have been this season.

We all know he's great at taking people on and dribbling past players. But he quite often doesn't release the ball until it's too late, or passes sideways or backwards. Dembele has all the skills to be great, but none of the vision or creativity.

can't compare dembele dribbling around the centre circle and meandering off to the side to that of neymar/messi etc who are doing it in the final third/opponent's box.
