If he can get a regular spot in Milan's midfield that would be a fantastic opportunity for the kid.

Would be a crazy world if our fifth choice CM could get a starting spot in the midfield of AC Milan who won the title last year.

You lot are on another level when it comes to your expectations for a 19 year old. Jesus. Must be world class or he's shit. Have a little perspective guys.

AC haven’t replaced Kessie yet, they are really short on CM’s. They wanted Renato Sanches but that fell through. Im sure we would want guarantees of play time and his role in any loan. It would be a risk for AC but you never know.

Here's the rub - he's not going to get on our bench (we already have 4 CMs who are more developed than him), and he also is not going to get into our CL squad. So he needs a loan. I do like the idea of keeping him with us until January just to train with the first team and learn Conte's methods whilst getting game time in U23s (or first team if we have an injury crisis), and then move to a PL club on loan in January.

I think a good loan could be big for this lad this year. Really like the look of him, he looks a very well rounded young midfielder and you can tell he’s athletically gifted in the same way Bissouma is. A good loan this year could put him in position to come in next season and be a great option in the same way Skipp did after his loan at Norwich. Got a really good feeling that this guy is going to be a top player

Plus Harvey White and whichever AM we bring in who if Zaniolo or Maddison can also play CM. Personally a season loan to good team is ideal.

The loan last year was by way of a condition of the fee, no doubt it was an easy one for us but it doesn't mean we plan to loan him out again. Obviously Conte wants to spend time with him during preseason so any loan won't be until late on the the window but I'm not convinced it's a given that he goes out on loan.
Personally I want to keep him here as whatever benefit he'll get from a loan it won't be as beneficial as spending time with the club and his team mates putting down roots, even if only until the January window if it would still be suitable then.

Agree it would be good to keep him around. Problem is if we are going to sign any more foreign players we’ll need to move on either one of Gil, Sarr, Emerson/Doherty as we’re at our non- HG limit. This is of course excluding NDombele/LoCelso/Reguillon.

I think this bit is important. Even if he gets no more than a handful of Carabao cup minutes I think in terms of orientation he should spend a little time in the country, at the training ground, at the stadium. Get him to understand the club that signed him. Have him work with the other CMs to understand what we want from him long term, then in Jan find him a loan deal in England (or Scotland) where he can get the minutes.

Sarr doesn't affect HG numbers as he's U21.

Feel for White.

Had good loan the other season (Bournemouth?), then on bench here all last season but not used.

His development has stagnated, and will be wasted if spends another year on the bench at Spurs.

Sarr - ideally would like a loan in England to get used to physicality of our leagues, but understand if we want to keep him with Conte for 6 months so that both can understand each other - the demands and requirements.

White needs to move on with a permanent move now. I do not think he is going to make it with us and his development is stifled every year that passes.

Loan him to Norwich. Last time we did that with a MF it worked out well for both of us.
Skipp before loan to Norwich has played ~700 minutes of senior football. Sarr currently has ~4000 minutes including international football, is better developed and proven on much higher level than Skipp two years ago. Also, his loan to Norwich worked well because Farke was very good coach and this isn't the case anymore

As others have pointed out - this would not be the case in CL. U21 player have to be with the club for 2 years to be included on that list.

But, I don't think that is an impediment to keeping him at Spurs - at least in the fall. He is young enough that not being included in the CL roster would not be seen as a huge negative. He could still be here to train with the club, get acclimated to England, and would get minutes in the League Cup, at a minimum - maybe more if he progresses.

He won't play much for Spurs - but the training and fitness routines could be important for his development.

I would love for him to get a premier league loan, or worst case a very good championship team.

It would prove if he can play in English football. I think conte doubts he can do that.
