As I was saying.... ? @Aleks ... Time to switch to 352 imo. Son is so ineffective in attack and defending and he and our midfield two today are wasteful.
Once Kulu is back, I'd love to see him free to support Kane more often in a 352:

Lloris
Romero Dier Lenglet
Bissouma
Doherty Sarr Bentancur Perisic
Kulusevski Kane

Thomas Partey aged 21. This kids a super athlete, we don’t need to worry about him physically, he will grow into his frame much the way Partey did. I was already really optimistic about this lad but he’s really elevated his status in the squad with his recent cameos. Very exciting talent

Tbh my biggest complaint with him is that we shouldn’t have loaned him back out to Metz straight away, because if we didn’t then he could have counted as homegrown. Think he will be a midfield mainstay for us 1-2 years from now and we will regret that.

But then didnt we get him a lot cheaper if we loaned him back because they were fighting relegation?

He was good but like Gil people are going way way over the top

Give him time, hopefully we remain in the cup so he can play there and develop.

Palace were that bad it concerns me people will put far too much pressure onto him and Gil because it will get a lot lot tougher than that

Props to Paratici on these young signings - Gil, Sarr, & Udogie are three of the top worlds prospects and we've quietly snapped them up over other clubs. I know Conte would probably prefer some experience, but just had to point that out because if they don't become good players here, they definitely will elsewhere.

I have never seen him before, world cup for a few minutes but thats about it. I was impressed. Ofcourse still raw but liked what he did when he came on. Surprised me even.

Very intriguing couple of cameos from him. Seems the world cup break really helped him and he's impressed Conte. Very mobile and athletic which is very handy for this league (albeit with a bit of bulking to do). Zips the ball around nice and is constantly moving into positions to move the ball. Got a good feeling about this one.

Hope he gets a start on Saturday now.

Really glad that nobody is getting carried away! ?

I thought he looked good against a Palace side that had given up and would like to see more of him but let’s be sensible now!
Conversely, Sess came on and looked like a child who had lost their teddy bear.

You're right. He did look good. Against a Palace side that knew they were defeated. But that didn't stop him from working his ass off and being switched on. That's what every coach wants to see. Whereas as the aforementioned Sess, looked like he wanted to be anywhere but the football pitch. That attitude and commitment does not go unnoticed, no matter the context of the game.

What struck me was his calmness and commitment. And that he took advantage of every second he was out there. That's an attitude I can get behind.

Yeah, he definitely has some Dembele vibes to him. Hopefully he will put a bit more muscle on, and that will certainly help keep him in good stead, playing week-in-week-out in the PL.

A Sarr in the making? :sneaky:

I've seen enough. Please don't fuck this up, he is great great prospect.

I also disagree with people saying he needs to bulk up. He has enough strength and long legs which makes him quick and strong.

Only thing he needs is trust and minutes on the pitch. For Spurs, not Metz or Saints or Udinese, but Spurs!

100%, Ndidi didn’t need to bulk up and he has a similar frame to Sarr.

It’s great we have yaya on the coaching team who he can base his game on. can see similarities and like others have said if he can add the penetrating runs that yaya had he has the lot. Great future

Its great news that we won't be sending him out on loan. We've a hell of a lot of games remaining this season and last night he showed that at the very least he can be brought on for last 30 mins of games which will help give PEH & Bentancur some rest.

I agree but what I saw is exactly what I saw when he played for Metz, that's his game that's what you will always get from him. There will be tougher games but he's got time.

Not sure they were fighting relegation as it was summer but their coach did want him there while he began to rebuild and taking him immediately wasn't an option, certainly at the price as you say.

We’ve got a special player there. Hope we don’t block his path because he’s got the talent to be a first team regular easily. Looks mobile, very good feet and passes the ball so calmly. Also didn’t shy away from putting his foot in. Thing that impressed me most was his want to move into areas to receive the ball, at his age that’s so promising. When we signed him a lot of people who had watched a lot of him said we’ve signed a potential star player, I can see why now.
Also I’m ignoring the “palace were shit” or “the game was done” people. Not only do we need a bit of positivity at the minute, young talented players with potential are always hyped and it doesn’t effect the best ones so who cares.

What is everyone's obsession with players bulking up? 2 years later you're all complaining they haven't got 90 pace in FIFA.

I watched Sarr shrug off what I can only describe as 3 attempted 'man-handles' before finally being hacked down last night. He's fine.
