From Paratici's bezzie mate:

Tottenham, contacts with Atalanta for Gollini

The London club thinks of the Atalanta goalkeeper for the future of their goal: they are working on the formula with Atalanta

A return to the past. With the future prospect of becoming among the best in Europe. Contacts in progress for Pierluigi Gollini at Tottenham .

It would be a return to England for the goalkeeper, who has already played for Manchester United and Aston Villa . Now the Spurs come forward, the parties are working to find the right formula , on the basis of a loan that can be extended by becoming two years with the inclusion of the obligation .

For the Spurs it is the future
The deal can be done, the right and favorable conditions are sought for all the parties involved and one aspect must be emphasized: both Lloris and Joe Hart have a contract expiring in 2022. And therefore Gollini would represent the future for the London club , who is interested in him as is Atletico Madrid, but to make the second behind a sacred monster like Oblak .

Gollini-Tottenham, that's why Atalanta a few weeks ago had moved in advance, making Musso official . Gollini-Tottenham, it would be another marriage between a blue goalkeeper and a foreign team , because Donnarumma at PSG is already official. Next stop: London. To understand if Pier will get on that plane.

If it is a loan with option to buy then that this would be a shrewd piece of business. For me Hart is a number 3 keeper at best and having a non HG back up to Lloris makes no sense.

Found the perfect song for him, guys. Most of our fans are going to love it since they’ve already mastered the sound from all their whining about Levy/Enic.

I'd be surprised to see us go for a GK. I think Hugo still has one more great season in him and look for a replacement next summer.

Maybe that's the plan, have him as Hugo's understudy for a year as our number 2 keeper and let him play in all our European games then make him number one next season. Goodbye Joe Hart.

How good is he? From what I recall he wasn’t very good when he was at Villa.

I think you have to remember that a goalkeeper's development is very different to an outfield player. He may have found the Championship difficult at that age. What was he? 21-22 at the time? He may have really come into his own in a stable team, under a better coach and a club with good support.

From here it sounds like he didn't feel he had the right support behind him - https://7500toholte.sbnation.com/20...ollini-sheds-light-on-his-time-at-aston-villa
