He's one of those that is involved in the game even when he isn't, pointing, always talking, etc.

Thing is he is better than people make out sometimes, I just think he isn't pretty on the eye in the way he does things which will always bring on criticism.

Hes the type of player managers love and some fans don't.

Of course he can be improved upon. That performance from Bissouma was something else as an example, but he's an effective player if not exciting.

I’m a big fan. He gets a rough go by some on here. But he works hard, is a leader, and is an important part of the squad. He may not be first choice in the toughest games (and then it’s questionable) with Bentancur and Skipp potentially ahead of him, but over a season of multiple competitions, he’ll play a key role.

Skipp isn’t ahead of him. We have already seen that 2-3 times, and that’s the manager making that decision. He could potentially be with more time.

He’s only ahead in the eyes of SC.

Agreed. I was thinking 1-3 seasons ahead. But no question PEH is ahead of Skipp right now in Contes eyes

He very well could be. :)

To be fair I think we need another class CM next to Bentacur in the summer.

Bissouma would be a great foil for Bentancur, and only has one year left on his contract in the summer. Guess there will be fierce competition for him though. Those two, with Skipp and Hojbjerg as rotation would be massive IMO. If we would make the CL, they would all get plenty of game time as well.

Bentancur’s brief cameo yesterday reminded me of Carrick. Exactly the type of CM that we have been crying out for IMO. We need more players with that quality on the ball, who can handle oppo’s high press.

I believe CM3 setup would to suit PEH. He doesn't have the composure or press-resistance for the 6 role but does a better job higher up the pitch, where he can press players, close space and join in the attack. It was his pass that setup Kane's first goal against Brighton. Unless he asks to leave, I don't see the point of getting rid of him. He doesn't need to play every game to help the team.

Gets a lot of unwarranted stick. Don’t know what some people‘s obsession with players pointing is. He’s clearly a leader on the pitch.

Celebrated the officials giving a throw on to us last night, he cares which is more than can be said for some of those more talented that we shipped out

Shouldn’t get the hate, he literally bleeds for the club. He’s a good all round player who we absolutely should keep around in rotation and be a leader in the dressing room. He’s not on big wages and was very cheap so no point in moving him on
He does a lot of good things, but I agree if we play a double pivot a bissouma next to bentacur would be very good.
we need 5 cms for next year really to give us tactical flexibility and rotation. Add in kessie or bissouma (in dream land barella) and our midfield is pretty set.

I have to say, for all the good he does, the running around pointing or with his hands in the air is annoying! The old mantra of play to whistle doesn't seem to be in mindset.

He's working the refs, which he does extremely well tbf. Bit of dark arts from Pierre.

I’m not really a fan of his, never have been but I’d rather have him in the team than someone who thinks they don’t need to try.

From what I seen yesterday when the stream wasn’t buffering I thought he was playing alright
