I remember as a kid, I turned on teletext and the headline was ‘spurs sign klinsmann’ . I just stood there staring at it in disbelief

Probably the last player spurs signed when they were already world class.

I'd argue Van De Vaart was world class but yes Klinsmann was amazing.

Just a small insight. A friend of mine used to know Radu's family (he used to play basketball in the 2nd division and then was a director at the same team, Radu's mom being a former professional basketball player). Apperently his parents are really good, down to earth people, bringing him up in a healthy environment. So personality wise he should fit Ange's team.

Might not seem much but this is the reason many Romanian players fail, very early in their careers. The vast majority of them are coming from troubled environments and loose their way as soon as they get some good salaries.
