Yeah, that's a completely fair take, and to be completely honest, as much as I'm arguing for Richy to come back in, I don't think he will. I think Ange will stick with the team from Burnley. In part to reward Solomon's performance, but also because he doesn't seem to make his team decisions based on emotions. I think a lot of my desire for Richarlison to come back in, is that I want him to succeed, and feel he has his best opportunity of doing so by getting straight back on the horse, as it were. Sheffield United are one of the weakest teams that will come to White Hart Lane this season, and to give him the opportunity to find form is a good thing IMO. He scores a couple against them, and is suddenly a different player vs Arsenal and Liverpool. Play him from the bench on Saturday, and I don't see him getting another start until October and Luton away, and even then how likely would that be? As much as I think it would be good for him, to be played into form, I think ultimately that's the best for the team and squad too. He's our main recognised striker, and it will serve us best to get him firing.
Personally I think the writing is on the wall and Ange knows it too. I don't think he'll be here after next summer and can't see him getting back in ahead of Son, even if he has a good game off the bench. Ange has said loads of times it's all about the team so I can't see him doing Richarlison any favours to get himself back into form at the expense of a team result.

I genuinely believe he's eternally cursed

These times are a test of a player's mentality though - top players don't let their heads drop, just keep working hard and get the basics right.

Richarlison's problem is he's accepting a personal defeat when things don't go his way for 70 minutes.

For those comparing Richy to Gakpo; the difference is Richy has been performing in the Prem, usually on the wing, for a very long time now. All of a sudden, he's just a number 9 (in the eyes of most) with an indifferent record in front of goal, when actually, those numbers are pretty strong for a Wide Player.

For now; I think his starting place is gone, and that makes sense more in reflection of our options on the flanks now Kulu has competition on the right from Johnson. There are going to be some BIG deep defences that Sonny isn't going to be able to find the space to get 1 on 1, so we'll still need the Brazilian battering ram.

We'll see.

The lad needs time and we should give it to him.

It's a real shame with the late Brazil game because Richi could get some much-needed confidence and self-worth knowing Sheff Utd is game where the team could really do with a Richi-type player rather than Son up top. But after Son's hat-trick Richi was never going to start anyway.

The flip side though is hopefully Son's form has bought Richi some time to get back in shape.

Very good mentality. No sulking here just doing what’s necessary to perform at the level we require.
Let’s really hope so. The trouble is he might well have time to contemplate all this whilst sitting on the bench. One step forward and all that. The mind is a fragile thing…

As it happens I do think Ange is a people person and motivator, so hopefully will try and get him back on track. The caveat to that is if Ange thinks he has the right tools in the first place.

Sounds like he's had some drama off the pitch over the last year but that he's dealt with it...

"On the field I'm a happy team player, I try to help as much as possible. Sometimes, things don't go the way we want. I think this part is a bit of the off-field side that ended up getting in my way. Even though you want to do things right, it ends up going wrong. I will continue to focus on the club, the storm has passed," he was quoted as saying in Brazilian media outlet Globo.

"I went through a turbulent time in the last five months off the field. Now things are right at home. People who only had an eye on my money walked away from me. Now things will start to flow, I'm sure I'll get a good run at Tottenham and make things happen again."

1st step is recognising there is an issue, next step is addressing it.

Take him out of the firing line to get that right for himself and bring him back when he feels ready to get after it.

Good he's recognising this and hopefully we can get him the help he needs. We need to see a smile on his face and the confidence come back.

Also shift him out to the wing where this less pressure on him to be the focus.

I hope he does well for us and think he has the talent, but for me Son and Solomon need to start at weekend after last match.

Really hope he can find his best form again, for himself, for us - but also for other players who have been struggling mentally.

Dele and Sancho are two examples of people who have spoken out or have been given a time out due to mental health issues. However, they've yet to come back to their full potential thus far. Would love for Richy to be a story of someone who's been open about mental health, laughed at by rival fans and really come back a better player and person.

Great to hear him talk positively about wanting to impress and about looking to speak to a sports psychologist.

I don't think many question his talents so let's hope this is what helps to unlock them.

The psychological side of the game is huge and whether it's off the field issues, the fact that Conte was a colossal bell-end, or a combination of the two, I think this is a positive step in helping him.

We always forget how players can have real life stuff going on that affect them, hope he gets what help he needs and can kick on for us
