My aim wasn't to assign blame (you can exchange "fault" with "decision" if you like) but that decision set him back a long time.

They obviously believed he would be OK without surgery, but having missed 60+ games prior to this season because of the same hamstring, you can still question why a permanent solution with surgery wasn't done last season.

Also it is a prime example of not buying a player who is injured. Whoever pushed for him and signed it off is to blame.

I'm sure there was ITK around the time of his latest surgery saying he'd put off having this surgery and could/should have been done a long time ago. I get its his body but unless there's going to be major repercussions (doubt it) later on in life then he's been happy to pick up his 10's of thousands in wages in the hope his body will naturally heal

The kid is probably in some kind of depression after continually getting injured and struggling to reach his potential and fans are talking about the club terminating his contract? You lot are cold hearted.

It's also completely pointless. Pay him off or let him stick around, we have to pay him what we owe him either way. He's not a troublemaker or bad influence, so keeping around will be the better option for us as well as for him.

Did he have injury issues when we signed him then? I wasn't aware at the time he had such history. He was still very young then as well. I'm not sure we could have foreseen him having these issues. Especially hamstring injuries which are common for any player. Not something you expect to keep recurring.

Yes when we signed him he was injured. It was a bad hamstring injury and we signed him regardless.

Hopefully a club in Saudi for £40 million.
I'm sure this wasn't a serious post but worth reminding people that Saudi clubs can only register 8 foreign players currently. While they may have a bottomless pit of money they won't be signing any old player as those quotas will soon be full of semi-decent players. Not sure what the lesser teams in the league are like but they don't seem to have many decent players (so presumably not as wealthy).

So basically you can't just sell your junk in the attic to them for millions. I think there is more chance they start taking the exciting prospects from South America or European leagues outside the top 5 leagues.

He's got to go now, no hard feelings but it's never worked out and the injuries are just too much.

Hes just had surgery that should fix the problem. Lets see how he goes now. Hes the least of our problems. Id much rather move on davies, dier etc. At least sess has pace.

Definitely not the most pressing concern, but at this point I'd worry if he knows how to kick a ball anymore. If pace is his only asset then major hamstring surgery isn't going to help.

We might as well give him a go till the end of this season (assuming he ever becomes available) and see if he can be a rotation option for Udogie. I highly doubt he can be but you never know, he is still young and has some good attributes. Nobody will sign him in January anyway.

I'd give him until the end of the season. I do think he needs a fresh start elsewhere to get his career on track, though.

We signed Ryan in 2019. As he was quite young prob 5 yr contract, may even be a year option on the end of that. So next summer probably a decision to be made . Some ignorant pundits tell us Levy didn’t back Poch after the champ lge final. He certainly did but no doubt wishes he hadn’t .
Ndombele. 54m
Lo Celso. Around 40m
Sess. 20-25m
Basically got nothing from any of them.

Not sure whose fault Sess was, Levy's I believe, but the other two are down to Poch. Poor judge of a player IMO.

That's hardly backing him to be fair. Sess was one for the future so you're talking 2 senior players in a very depleted squad. Not to say Poch wasn't partly to blame too. However that 2 year period with very few signings set us back a long way.

Agreed. Maybe better off at Chelsea with people above him buying the players.
No doubt a top coach but if you look at his best team with us, almost all of them were here, or about to arrive when he started with us . Main exception being Son.

Poch was sacked a few months into the season so he barely had any time with Ndombele and Lo Celso. If Poch stayed, would their Spurs careers be different? Who knows.
