Why is there a comparison between Bentancur and Ryan? Bentancur was our best player aside from Kane last season. Of course people were thrilled to see him back. Sessegnon has done very little in the past five years since arriving in 2019. People should not be wishing him ill, and we all hope he will come good. Personally I believe its a confidence issue.

It's great to see the lad back and fit, and I hope he can do something with us. But I've never seen him demonstrate the level of mental sharpness needed at this level. I know he's not played for aaaaages, but he showed that again, and it sounds like Vic saw that too. Just always seems to be a yard off the pace of the game, even before the latest injury. It is as if you can see him trying to make a decision and then the moments gone, not instinctive at all, but again that's a confidence issue, really hope Ange of all people can help him see his potential.

He's never had a real run though has he?

There's a lot of players that are obviously playing on nerves at the moment, trying to prove themselves, mainly because of injuries and other situations straight after their big move.

Johnson, Richarlison, Lo Celso, Skipp, and Sess to name a few are clearly playing not quite as relaxed as they could be despite their years at the club.

Porro is a good example of someone who's settling down now after a good run in the team. It's taken him a year.

Premier League football ain't easy and the Tottenham crowd isn't exactly 'unconditional' in it's affection for players either.

If he can stay fit, I think Sess and a few others are going to surprise a few people.

No expectations on him but intrigued to see how he does under Ange, which position he’ll play and if he can stay fit or not.

I think someone poster on Reddit said Sess didn’t jump with the attacker at the last corner and Vicario wasn’t exactly happy about it
I fucking love that and it explains why we defend well at set pieces. Even if you're too small you have to jump.and put pressure on the opponent. We've done this well but Sess is just back and needs to learn.

As for Sess it's great to see him back. He needs a number of appearances before we can judge in this team. I'm sure he will play left back but came on as forward to ease back in. I would consider keeping Reguilon though of Davies is out for a while. It will be a while before Sess is ready and if he pulls up again we will be left short on the left.

Agree with all of this other keeping Reggie. He isn’t part of the plan so move him on

I actually came in here to see if anyone else thought he looked like he’d been bulking up. He’s definitely bigger than when he last played.

He needs a lot of time, football is a confidence game and he has lost a lot of it since he was doing whatever he wanted at Championship as teenager. Also you can't be afraid, at past he has seemed bit cautious probably due constant injuries. He needs to get past that too. He has half a season to do those two to convince Ange. If not, will be sold summer.

When Bentancur came back into the team he was in good shape. Sess looks overweight and moved like a truck. Fair enough it’s his first involvement so we’ll see, but it didn’t look good.

He’s a bit to go on his fitness, he’s definitely carrying timber. Interesting to see if Ange sees something there he can work with. He’s turned other players around.

Bit longer, but to me Bentancur has looked also bit slow and sluggish compared to past despite ok performances. Which is perfectly understandable, just a note
