Aurier is pretty limited offensively as well?

His crossing leaves a lot to be desired but he’s chipped in with a few goals and nice finishes at that… he also always looks to get forward whereas it isn’t 2nd nature to Tanganga. Do I rate Aurier? overall he’s an average player and yes I would like him to be sold BUT not if it means we’re having to rely on Doherty who’s up there with the worst signings of all time.

I thought Aurier wanted to leave, and has done for 2 summers now?

Tbh he gives me a heart attack every time there's an attack down our right but I'd not feel too badly if he just ran down his contract. He's a useful player in our squad that is somewhat bereft of natural RBs. Doherty has been very poor, and Japhet wants to play at CB although is better than Doherty at RB. If we sign Tomiyasu though perhaps a deal might become easier if he sees his playing time reduced.

I thought he was our best defender last season and showed some consistency. Way better than Doherty for sure.

Yeah not too disappointed if Serge hangs about, think he had a decent season for us, there's others in the squad id much rather left before him.

Think hes chipped in with a fair amount of asssists for us, especially for a right back.
Yeah, 1 assist every 530 minutes (+/- 6 full matches) in the league. By no means impressive with one of the best strikers in world football in front of goal + Son, but not terrible either I guess. Overall pretty limited though.

We also need to factor in that Aurier likes to cross the ball which for most teams would be a good thing but with Kane dropping deep 99% of the team we very rarely have a presence in the box. This results is us playing tippy happy football on the edge of the box and in the absence of a player with Eriksen’s skill set our moves breakdown more often than not.

I have so much respect for him and how he's handled personal things and still show up. I would love for him to stay this year and to seek Doherty and then go and get Aaron's.

I‘m not so sure. There’s a reason we haven’t pushed the button on Tomiyasu and I reckon it’s because we haven’t got rid of a right back. One in one out and all that.
Or he just finished the Olympics? Just because nothing has been said it doesn't mean nothing is being done.

I actually thought Aurier was pretty good last season. He's always got a mistake in him and make a couple of token howlers, but overall his attacking play was about as good as I've seen from him and he had a few great defensive games too.

Attacking-wise, 2 goals and 3 assists in 19 league games is pretty decent for a full back.

For comparison, Shaw only got 1 goals and 5 assists in 13 more appearances and people were saying he was the best left back in the world. Even TAA only got 2 and 7 in 36.

Would be so much happier with him as a backup over Doherty.
