I cannot believe no clubs haven't taken him. Utterly bonkers how he's apparently having to buy his contract out.
The club will buy him out of his final year at a reduced rate.

He stands to gain everything, particular as an “out of contract” player. The money his future club save on a transfer fee will be thrown at him as a signing on sweetener.

It’s the club that stands to gain nothing. His people would have driven this all summer long. Putting off potential suitors in the knowledge they’ll push for him to be released.

Dare I say it, shudder, Willian done for arsenal what we hoped Serge would do. Walk away and do the honourable thing.

Compare this to what Willian did with his longer more lucrative contract, really sums up where his priorities lie. Well within his rights to do so of course, but best to cut our losses and get rid asap. Incidentally, what is he on a week, 60k ?

So long as he’s released during a transfer window, he can be signed/registered outside a window.
Doesn’t it have something to with human rights? (Sigh!)

The right to seek employment / work. Especially if outside of an existing contract.

Smart move from him. Obviously no loyalty or concern for Spurs, his next team should act accordingly.

We can't demand Kane honours his contract and then be outraged when Aurier says he wants to honour his.

Seems a bit too 4D chess to me, what if we kept paying him like we did with Rose, no football with ACN coming up and World Cup a year later. All a bit high risk
He’s the Ivory Coast captain. He’d have been in the squad regardless

People wanted him gone at all costs (rot in the reserves etc) but he's leaving on his terms, now there's fake concern about his exit strategy.

Lol

No doubt, but not exactly 100% match fit and ready. I just don’t buy this grand plan, I’m sure Levy is also not giving him a large payoff or even a pay off at all, will be interesting to see the details when reported
