Only downer on this is the buy-back clause but imagine it's part of the deal to get Bale on the (relative) cheap and if they pay us €40m in two years then we're basically getting him for free and hopefully by then at least one of Sess and Cirkin will be up to speed and ready to go.
Part of me thinks there might be something clever going on. Like Bale's wages being subsidised by the buy back clause. Like, we refund them some of the wages they might be covering for Bale through the buyback clause. Though I hope that the buyback clause is suitably high. I suspect it is as we are apparently giving Real Madrid first refusal as well. Which suggests the clause is quite high, but with Real able to match any lower bids as well.

I'm almost more excited for this than Bale. I miss when we had Walker and Rose dominating each side of the pitch.
I think with Reguilon and Doherty, we may have another type of dominance in FB/WB with ultra flexibility. That's what I'm really looking forward to.

As much as I still rate Davies, he's still too one-dimensional.

Probably already been said but from his yt clips he actually reminds me a lot of Gareth bale.

An exciting player, we need a few more of these.

Not sure why so many people think that if a fullback is strong going forward they must be poor defenders. Reguilon is a complete fullback — a great attacker and solid defender. He was a mainstay in the Sevilla defense that allowed only 34 goals in La Liga, which was the third best defensive record in the league [Barca conceded 38 goals, for reference], and won the Europa League.

Sevilla played in a 4-3-3 throughout 19/20 and Reguilon played LB, he is by no means a pure wingback. Looking at his individual statistics, In La Liga, he averaged 2.0 tackles p90 — the 7th best average of La Liga LBs, 1.1 interceptions p90, ranking him 9th for La Liga LBs, and 2 successful aerial duels p90, the 6th best in La Liga for LBs (at over a 50% aerial duel success rate).

This is all while providing an average of 1.5 key passes p90, the highest average for La Liga LBs, 1.8 dribbles p90, the second best average for La Liga LBs (at over a 70% dribble success rate), and 2 goals (joint-best LB output) and 4 assists (joint 2nd best La Liga LB output).

Safe to say if we get Reguilon over the line we will have a fantastic player on hands, both going forward and in defense.

The buy back doesn’t really bother me. If you look at the signings we’ve made and the players we’ve sold over the last 5/6 years I can only think of Wimmer, Walker and Tripper that we’ve made money on. I think the buy young sell high has been over played really.

Are we at the stage where we can start coming up with a chant for him?!

An obvious one we could use now that Eriksen has left:

"Reguilon, lon, lon, he's our new number 3.
Reguilon, lon, lon, ...

I thought new signings did if coming from abroad but more than happy to be told otherwise.

taken from a scum friend when they signed Ceballos...... because he was in an elite bubble with Madrid he didn’t need to quarantine
the fact they have both with Spain and wales and reported to training ground we should be ok

If we sign him, does that mean any striker we bring in would have to be home grown? (Unless we are able to shift a non-homer)
