Reguilon is a very good player. Is he a player that will give 90mins of perfection? no. Is he going to be a player who takes the team on his back and leads them to victory? probably not.

If he's in a team performing well, he adds to the quality because of his attacking ability. If he's in a team playing poorly, he will look poor because he's not as strongly defensively.

Could we find a better alternative in our position? I dont think so

People slaying him for his miss….no other left back even gets there with that pace

That's not the point though is it mate?

I'm usually the first to jump to a players defence but that miss was criminal. Forster didn't even make himself big, or pull off some amazing reflex save. It was just really, REALLY poor finishing of what would have been an excellent team goal.

Everyone leading up to the chance made exactly the right pass, the right weight of pass. Then he choked!

Any decent standard of player should be putting that chance away really. It was served up on a platter.

We were linked to Filip Kostic from Eintrach Frankfurt early in the January window. Predominately left sided player, though I don't believe he's played LWB, is incredibly effective at crossing and set pieces. Will have one year left on his contract and will be 30 in June but Conte has turned older wingers in really effective wingbacks in his system.

He would be expensive but I really like what I have seen so far of Mitchell at Crystal Palace. Certainly defensively he is better already than Reggie and RS.
I guess with all the other changes needed in our squad though left back isn’t too much of a priority certainly compared to Right back /wing back position.

Not quite the player I thought he was gong to be. He has no composure, its ll 100 miles an hour and he rushes things and makes basic mistakes. If he could find some and calm down he'd be twice the player.

Theres plenty of problems in this squad before him though

Played ok and put in some good crosses but he had no composure for that effort on goal. He seemed he felt it was enough just to get it in target. Hope he learns from it.

Not a problem area at all for me. There's about 5 or 6 positions that need fixing and LB ain't one of them.

Anyone have any insight on why Reguilon's minutes are so limited? He plays every other match and even then often finds himself subbed off.

For me he's our best fullback and the only one with some threat to his game, yet Conte doesn't seem to trust him very much.

Is he (extremely) unfit and struggle to play more than once a week at best or is it a case of Conte not trusting him?

He's been pretty ordinary all season, that's why.

He hasn't lived up to the hype yet, he needs to improve all aspects of his game and fast.

Reports today Madrid will exercise their buyback.

I think in this formation it needs looking at. No fullback we have can actually pick a player out going forward. He is our best full back but he needs to improve offensively and if rumours are right he will be going back to Madrid in the summer.

Jury still out for me. His decision making and quality in the final third is often really bad.

Relative to how bad we are he's good and I don't see how we upgrade on him until we're a top side. Probably about 6/7 players i'd still sell before him.

Yes, I am the team doctor and can confirm Sergio Reguilon has Covid. I am also now looking for work after being let go due to breaching Patient-Doctor Confidentiality.
