Serious inquisitions need to be made of whoever sanctioned the money to buy a player that can only score if you lay it on a plate for him (and lately he's been missing those too). I hadn't seen too much of him in Spain, so I don't know if he was Messi over there, but I can judge on what I've seen so far.

He has no pace to talk of, he's a dimunative figure so his hold up play will never be something to talk about and he possesses no real skill or technique on the ball, i.e to run at defenders or produce skill.

He's a player that if you have a good team creating chances, he scores. That's not £25m. Not his fault, he didn't ask us to pay that. But whoever splashed the cash on this guy should be held accountable.

His overall games got much bettet but as mention his not scoring goal for the money paid you'd expect Soldado to be winning us these games or at least getting us a foot hold.

Think some need to go back and watch the game again - he was woeful from start to finish today, his touch, his movement, his finishing and that's why he was hooked despite Adebayor being almost as bad

Soldado hasn't produced yet. My fear is he never will. He doesnt seem to have the urgency required to succeed in the EPL. I hope I am wrong.

You have such an agenda against him!

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't you for us buying Benteke?

The guy who hasn't scored in 12 hours of football.

--------

I'll be astonished if Soldado hasn't hit 15-20 goals in all competitions by the end of the season, not a bad return by any means given the first 10 games or so he rarely had someone within 20-30 yards of him.

I have absolutely no agenda against him, just call it as I see it. He totally flatters to deceive and is making next to no telling/game changing contributions and his finishing is dire ..... for £26m at what 28 I expect tonnes more.

Soldado has improved massively recently, his passing is one of the best in the squad.. Selling him is stupid.. Maybe hasnt scored as much as like but has definitely improved

Look mate, I do totally get that. It's frustrating for all of us but you can see he's got it in in him.

It's a confidence thing and the link up play and him taking optimistic shots just show me he's regaining the confidence that was destroyed under AVB's tenure.

It will really be a case of once one or two go in, he'll start to really get into his groove.

I'm in the same camp as you, don't really follow spanish football heavily but what i've seen so far don't even come close to what i'd expect for 26mil, apart from the odd flash of skill and decent movement hasn't really looked much better than defoe so far and thats saying something.

I give up with some of our own fans. I can understand why we are hated by other teams fans. Soldado a dud or should be sold? ....words just escape me. I wont be returning to this thread as some of you are just too ridiculous.

I wonder about people sometimes and if they have kicked a football themselves in any type of competitive football, be it on a sunday morning pissed up.

Firstly AVB did NOT play a style of football which would benefit Soldado and even then regardless of AVBs boring style, we didn't create him anything worth while for him to even get a goal/goal scoring run going.

As striker soon loses confidence 4 or 5 games without a goal is all it will take some players, its so obvious he's low on confidence in front of goal even Stevie Wonder could see it. His overall play is fine, no issues there.

He just needs something, anything, just to scuff one in and i am sure he will get going.

If he's a dud i am happy to say i was wrong, but i don't think so.

If Soldado had come into a side that was forward thinking as we are now i'm certain there would be no dounts about him, right now he's a bit snatchy but personally i think thats fully understandable!
