Other players besides our strikers are allowed to score as well you know. If he's not getting any service himself (like the first half, where he made several runs which were ignored in favour of more sideways passes) then why not drop a little deeper or drift out wide to try and create something for another player? He's already demonstrated he has better vision and creative passing than most of our midfielders.

And it's not as if it's exclusively Soldado doing this, both Kane and Adebayor do this as well. None of our strikers are six-yard box goal hangers, so it's surprising that you're singling out Soldado for criticism. Were you happy with the level of goal threat Adebayor posed?

Yes I do know, Eriksen, Chadli and Townsend from the penalty spot + Rose occasionally following up at the far post....

How about OUR STRIKERS (HK not included) scoring sometime. Wouldn't that be nice!!! That's why we paid a massive transfer for 1 and pay massive wages to another

I'll say it again, we have 1 striker and it ain't Bobby or Ade

Lasagne gate sick?

yeah lol.

Facetious comment obviously. I like Bobby but looking at it objectively I just don;t know what to say anymore. He and we need put out of this misery.

If he comes good between now and the end of the season, and I mean scoring goals regularly, I'll be surprised but delighted.

like you I would love him to come good but also like you find it hard to envisage

It's also hard (for me at least) to think of a system that would suit him and our other more talented/better performing players to get the best out of him without detracting from the team as a unit

I hope that work behind the scenes at training has a plan in mind for this and eventually it will find its way in to the match day - but I think it will just end with us having to bite the bullet and sell the likes of Paulihno, Soldado and Chirches for a loss and hoping to rebuild with some new cheaper signings or more youth making the step up effectively

Nice how I've had some negs for mentioning Suarez

He cost three times as much as Soldado and has the same league record as Adebayor this season (11 games 2 goals)...

@TwanYid is on a revenge neg attack I see....

Nice of you to neg me for what was essentially a joke regarding an SC poster's creation of a moniker for Roberto Soldado-- "RS9"-- which is fucking ridiculous. But instead of laughing, you hit the dislike bottom.

I can't stand most of what you write but up till now I've been loathe to neg-rate you (or anyone for that matter) because I don't think that's a correct response to a post (unless what someone's written really merits it). But seeing as how that didn't stop you, then it's on.

I feel like I should say that this guy was one of my favourite players before he came here so it's hard for me to see him do so badly and I was so excited when we signed him. I can't kid myself though, like some on here clearly still are. He's just not suited to this league at all. The biggest coincidence for me is that he always has a great game when it's a really open game and I think that's exactly how La Liga is 90% of the time. He just hasn't adapted and I don't think he ever will. If he goes back to La Liga I fully expect him to do very well again and I'll be really happy for him if it happens

"It's on"

Grow up.

You said you pretty disgusting crap against one of our own - that's neither funny nor admirable...

You mean to tell me that over the course of the last couple of centuries there existed 8 big-nosed, elfin Spanish motherfuckers with slicked-back hair who couldn't get the ball wet if they were standing on the beach?

I didn't rate it funny because it wasn't funny. I suggest you try an Arsenal forum if you want people to chuckle at nonsense like that, especially as you "I can't stand most of what (I) write", when most of what I write amounts to positivity and support for our players through thick and thin.

I'll also add that you seem to have an awful lot of negative ratings, so it seems like you do this a lot.

Calm down chaps.

To be fair, someone makes personal insults towards a player and is surprised that someone dislikes it....

You can respect opinions, you can't respect insults.

I wasn't asking you to rate it "funny;" rather, I was commenting on how you chose to neg-rate it rather than just allow it to be. I now see that in your holier-than-thou world making fun of Roberto Soldado is akin to being a scum supporter-- gotcha. Btw- does that go for everyone who criticizes him in this (and numerous other) threads? Are we all more suited for "an Arsenal forum" because we aren't best pleased with "RS9"?

Oh and also- no, most of what you write isn't "positivity and support for our players through thick and thin (way to complement yourself there champ- what are your other strengths?)." No, most of what you write is passive-aggressive, reactionary, and belittling towards people who don't share your alleged "positivity." And for someone so "positive," it's amazing the amount of ad hominem attacks you level against those posters with whom you disagree.

You're not just 'making fun' of him, you're throwing personal insults at him.

What you actually wrote was easily considered racist, which makes it bizarre how you thought it would be funny (especially considering recent conversations on the topic).

I'm shocked that you thought to post that without expecting to get 'negged' for it. There's a difference between clicking dislike for an opinion (unless you're offended by the support for him), and disliking abuse towards him as a person.

P.S. You'll find that you're in the minority for disliking him, so the 'all' you quote isn't really 'all' at all.

Oh and also- no, most of what you write isn't "positivity and support for our players through thick and thin (way to complement yourself there champ- what are your other strengths?)." The positivity is towards the players, not the posters who attack them on a personal level. If you dislike the footballer, at least make some sort of constructive reason. You can't fault him as a person, except you apparently know him well enough to criticise him for his appearance and nationality. Well done.

I think that the ship has probably sailed on him now sadly. Had he been paired with someone like Kane who can provide both aerial and ranged threat then I think he'd have done and would be doing better as he'd get more chances to exploit gaps, but even when he gets chances now he seems to fluff his lines where he'd not have before he came.

Why are you getting so upset him being referred to as RS9? His twitter handle is R9Soldado and has been referred to as RS9 long before he came here.

You need to get over it.

If we don't sign a striker in this window, and if soldado stays, then we'll see the making of the man.

He'll get games, he'll get chances. I think he'll know that he's in the last chance saloon and will have it all to do.

Footballers do it all the time - Ade swings between clumsy and sublime from season to season, so it's not impossible.
