I've been massively on his back this season and he even admits he hasn't played well.

But this is the Sonny we need to see week in week out. He's not a passing wide man, he's a get the ball and run at them AM, really hope this goal gives him the confidence to go back to being the direct player he can be and hasn't shown at all this season. With his ability on both feet he's so tricky to play against, BUT he needs to play to his strengths and that's having him higher up the pitch in one on one position in and around the box and pulling the trigger not in the centre of the park trying to play passes as most of the time he loses the ball. Really pleased for this today especially after a few misses in the game, lovely to score such a great goal like that, he will be buzzing!!

Or maybe the not having the threat of having to clean toilets with a toothbrush for 2 years made him a slacker. I think we should threaten all our players with national service if they don't win the league.

Yes i'm pissed.

Fantastic game. He's spent the season thus far with the first touch of a brick wall, but everything was slick about him yesterday. Very good to see.

Should have had more, he admitted it himself in the interview.

Love him to bits. Even my arsenal supporting mates love him. Keep expecting him to tell us to smoke him a kipper. What a guy.

He's fast becoming not just one of my favourite players in this team, but one of my favourite Spurs players ever.

Absolutely love this man!

So many great goals. Swansea scissor kick & West Ham last year are the best for me.

He got so much slack this summer in comparison to Zaha, never made any sense to me. He's inconsistent of course but most wingers are, just look at Hazard & Bale who are considered some of the best in the world.

An absolute steal for 22 million. Hope he starts purring again; he makes things more fun to watch

That summer completely changed our team. Son, Toby & Dele all coming into the squad. Solidified our defense & added very needed attacking options. Trippier for pennies and Wimmer who we flipped for a tremendous profit as well.

Spot on. Up until a few weeks ago his touch had been terrible and he couldn’t get the ball out of his feet

Back to his best Saturday. Sensational

That bit of skill in the 1st half when he turned Rudiger inside out was pure magic

I think it has to do with the way we play. Previously we were doing very short passes to the feet and he'd be surrounded by teammates and opponents. Whereas on Saturday we were playing balls in front of him into space where he can really go get opponents at speed.

That’s his strength- attacking the open spaces as the ball arrives. He’s more effective in that role than, say, Zaha. And that’s what we need more of- a confident Son menacing opposition defences; there’s always goals and mayhem in that

My personal favourite goal of his up until his Chelsea goal, was his offside nutmeg flick winner against Watford. Really shows what type of player he is, if he just reacts without thinking he can pull off the sublime. Brilliantly clutch.

It also has to do with the way the opponents play though. If they come to sit deep and leave no space in behind, his only option is to create something from a standing position. He's fairly good at that as well though, just rounding the fullback and getting into the box almost on the backline and then crossing flat and hard.
