He needs a rest now. He's been absolutely superb this season but he's starting every game and given the amount of international travel he's also had to do he must be knackered. Two poor performances in a row where the spark seems to have gone.

Annoyingly, the next two games at Dortmund and Liverpool so we ideally want our best players on the pitch though. But if he burns out then we could be kicking ourselves.

We have a 13 day or so break between the Southampton game and Liverpool game, with respect to the international fixtures. I believe Poch will take the players on warm weather training in Spain during that break. Hopefully we can get Dele back and reinvigorate the players to finish the season strongly.

If he wants to reach that next level he needs to find consistency. Hasn’t scored for 4 games now, needs to step up today and bag us the 3 points.

This, I find quite ridiculous. We've been running him to the ground without proper rest and he still stepped up and scored consistently for months for us, especially whilst Kane was absent. What's the next level? No player can keep it up all season. Last game v Dortmund, his primary job wasn't even to score and he was more actively involved in our defense. Sometimes, you've got to look at the full picture not just their goal numbers.

If he scores, it will be great, but this isn't about him reaching the next level or having to prove us his class.

Well, this isn't entirely Son's fault. He had his best period when Kane was out, logically enough. No Kane on the pitch, more chances fall on other players, more chances -> more goals. With Kane on the pitch, Son's position changes. I actually feel bad for him, Son was flying but naturally you can't drop Kane just because Son is having a good period.

People are primarily concerned with Eriksen and Toby leaving this summer, as expected... but I'd be wary of someone looking to bid for Sonny as well. His stock is sky high, he's proving himself at the highest level, and he and everyone else saw what he's capable of when he's front and centre, leading an attack.

He's a good lad, and loves this club clearly, but if he's offered the chance to step fully out of Kane's shadow and properly kick on... I wouldn't blame him for his head turning.

Son has played well with Kane plenty of times so that's not the problem, and anyone slating Kane just needs to remember days of Ferdinand or even further back Fenn / Allen when Sheringham and Armstrong couldn't stay fit. Easy to take Kane for granted but he's one of our most important players.

Son does need to be more consistent, I'm a massive fan of his but he is so very hot and cold at times.

He actually was doing better before he had couple of weeks rest too.

That's not actually true, he's had his best ever period for Spurs in 2016/17 played for the majority of that season alongside Kane and hit something like 19 in all comps.

This season Kane and Son were starting to show great form (Everton/Bournemouth) before everything went tits up with the injuries and national team call up destabilised things. What I suspect though is that the injury to Dele really messed things up not only for Kane or Son but for Eriksen as well, we only really look like our ourselves when he's playing as he's constantly on the move creating space for others.

So people putting Son's lack of recent form down to Kane is just lazy analsys and looking for an easy scapegoat, there's a load of other factors as to why Son's form has dropped that you must look into first.
