He is going to come good..he is the kind of player we need around here. Keeps the ball, good off-the-ball movement, some pace, young, hungry...he isn't going to win you a game on his own but we have CL this year so there are enough games to go around for 4 or even 5 AMs..

Keeps the ball!? Ball retention is one of his worst attributes

Unless we were to replace him with Draxler, or trust our other widemen and pick up isco instead, then I see no point in letting him go. I think he is a very talented player who, with a bit of time and patience (and of course our excellent coaching team pushing him along), will come good and be a really valuable asset.

To let him go after such a short and injury ravaged spell would be shortsighted and farcical - stomachable only for the reasons stated above...

I'm backing sonny to make an impact this season.

Would someone please feed all of these fucking hungry players we apparently have, for the love of God!

Apropos of nothing, I've always thought it a shame that no one's national cuisine involves seagulls. They could literally clean up in Cardiff.

And you won't find a more appropriate and grammatically correct use of the word "literally" on this site.

You dont want to be eating any animal which lives off rubbish. Unless you want to corn feed them or something which defeats the purpose. I know this after a boring day at work when i wondered if anyone ate crows

Promising start and then he got injured and lost the ability to control the ball.

Big season for him!

He's a good player. Never gonna be an absolute world beater but a great squad option to have. Has good pace and always a goal threat. Very important to have around now we're in the champions league.

Very pleased for him after his Olympic 'breakdown'.

Very good for his confidence and the second goal was a proper son goal.

Hopefully Son can keep fit this year and I think he'll have a good season. He is a real goal threat from midfield andhas the ability to beat a man. Think he could become an important part of the first team and he's still relatively young.

Really chuffed for him and I think todays goals can be a real catalyst (or I hope it is) for his season. He's going to get opportunities, and the onus is on him to make sure he takes them and breaks into our strongest XI.

One word today, Immense!

Looks a totally different player at LW than RW
Not sure I would say "immense" today. His finishing was and his pace on the break gave us a much better balance. But his passing and decision making were erractic at best. Still much more to come as he gets more confident though. At least today, he's made a statement that he wants to come to the party this season and be an important part of the squad.
