I’d say Qatar will end up handy enough, there won’t be too many Qataris in their lineup come the World Cup that’s for sure. Can’t say I know a big pile about Bahrain mind. Can’t see them being too hot

The issue is that South Korea can only meet the other decent side in the competition - Japan (they have just won their round of 16 game) - in the final. Assuming SK beat Bahrain, they will face either Qatar or Iraq in the QF. The semis will then likely see them pitted against Australia (although Uzbekistan, UAE or Kyrgyz Republic may somehow scrape through). Barring a miracle, Son and co. will go all the way.
Hard disagree, and not just because I'm Australian.

We beat South Korea in the final of the last Asian Cup, and despite our current injury issues, we're capable of doing so again. There are pretty much four teams that are far better than the rest in Asia, and that's Australia, South Korea, Japan, and Iran. The winner will come from one of those four.

Hopefully we do Spurs a favour and knock them out in the semi final, should we both get there.

I hope we beat them as well, but I don't want South Korea to go out just so we can get Son back at spurs. If it was the Euros (which is the European equivalent), everyone would be wanting England to do as well as they can, and it should be the same for Son here. He missed out last time because of us (Australia) and I'm sure he would want to put that right too.

Oh, that would be a bonus, but I want South Korea to go out because we beat them and go through to the final.

Reading Reddit comments - but it appears that Son got kicked in the face in the 1st half. Still on, so can't be serious.

Match Commentary:

25'Ali Jaafar Madan (Bahrain) is shown the yellow card for a bad foul.
24'Son Heung-Min (Korea Republic) wins a free kick in the attacking half.

Reading the stats SK have had 75% possession but have only had one shot on target. Bahrain have had 4 shots. That’s seems somewhat unusual to me.

ESPN has it with SK 7 shots, 1 on target, Bahrain 6 shots, 1 on target.

I am not watching - but that is probably not unusual if Bahrain is playing with a compact defense, and defending well outside the area.
