Yeah he's done on the left
He can obviously contribute there, but I do think his opponent being 33 yo trippier who has been run into the ground the past couple months played a role. Can only beat what’s in front of you, which he has, but a favorable matchup. The final balls (decision making and weight of pass) after he beat Trippier is what has been really impressive.

Gave us the quality from the wing we have been sorely lacking in the last few weeks and he made all the difference. Really superb performance.

He's been class there for many years now and I've seen nothing to suggest that will change under Ange

We all know Son is in the elite percentile for finishing, but his hunger and touch was on another level today.

Ironically, his only poor touch got us a penalty, which he dispatched excellently.

I've said for a while son left and Richy through the middle needs to happen

Want a few games like this

Son can cross a ball with his left and can shoot with his right. Richy can bully defenders and jump

If it's the pre-operation Richy then I disagree. You want your best finisher in the best positions.
However with our weakness in AM it's common sense to play Son on the left is common sense otherwise play either Gil or Johnson on the left; neither are better than Richy.

I think Son and Richarlison can become a good pair since they can swap positions from time to time. Richarlison is not pleasing on the eye taking defenders on but as we saw in his Everton days he can play out wide doing a lot of hard yards defensively and bustle his way into the box to cause chances. Like the Liverpool game in September where he got a through ball from Maddison and crossed it into Son for a goal and then a few minutes later got on the end of a cut back to hit the post.

I'm so so glad he's our captain. He totally put his heart, soul and voice into managing the game right on the field. The frustration we saw he must have felt it way more. Really couldn't ask for a better candidate as our captain.

Just that I couldn't understand the Korean captions. If only they make translated captions up available to turn on.

Been looking at his Prem stats compared to the 'legend' that is Mo Salah.

Salah P247 (227 starts) 150 goals (23 pens) 66 assists
Son P 284 (234 starts) 113 goals (2 pens) 56 assists

Put Son in that Liverpool team for the last 6 years and he trumps Salah's numbers IMHO.

Ashley Phillips is kicking himself.
It was masterstroke, and an excellent part of the plan that Ange was in on too, getting Phillips to send out this decoy message that completely fooled Eddie Howe and lulled Kieran Trippier into a false sense of security. 😉

This is why I'm really hoping Richarlison can continue to keep scoring. A goal again at Forest will do wonders. I think without Son wide especially, we're probably lacking enough quality from wide areas to really capitalise on our dominance as much as we should.

A Son who can always also go on the outside and deliver a quality ball on his left foot and a Johnson who looks more at home on the right and has the pace to really get at defenders seems to be our best wide options now IMO.
