would be foolish to move him on. Like a lot of players, he doesnt know if he's coming or going the way we set up and play.
I judge most players on their 2nd or 3rd season. I think he has potential but not the same ceiling as a player like Son.There are more players that I would rather sell but at the levels he has shown even his peaks he shouldn’t be a starter for us.
I just don’t think he has the attributes to be a standout winger for us. Even someone like Townsend you could recognise his pace and trickery. He’s creative at his passing but not good enough for a No10I judge most players on their 2nd or 3rd season. I think he has potential but not the same ceiling as a player like Son.
He scored 3 league goals last season so I'd hoped he would build on that this season.
If he doesn't start contributing goals and assists next season then he's done. Simply "putting in a shift" isn't enough.
The only thing missing from his game so far has been the end product, he has pretty much done everything asked of him quite well. And he's done it in a system that is completely opposite to what he's thrived in, in the past.
People say "only" but it's fairly important to have for the position he plays in

He WILL come good. I'm absolutely sure of it. But he needs a manager that suits him and give him confidence.
We cant afford to be spending £30m on players that shouldnt be starting for us. Jose clearly didnt want or rate him and it turns out he was probably right.
Our transfer team and scouts need a serious overhaul if this was the best they could come up with.
Absolutely. He will be our Jota if you like. And if he does well enough I see him in the front 3. Son Kane and Him is a very good mix of it all really.I said this exact same thing when he started losing confidence, give him a manager like Pep and he'd be flying.
I'll judge him once he's played as an attacker rather than a secondary fullback.
It’s a shame because he should have been a potent attacking threat in a counter attack with his pace.Spot on. Until we have a manager who wants us to keep the ball and attack it’s not fair to judge him. Because apart from Son and Kane all our attacking players have had patchy form under this manager.
