I'd be very surprised if he wasn't still here in February. I just think something won't give, whether it's a club willing to pay part of his salary or our club being unwilling to put up some of his salary.

Need to hope that he is so desperate to leave that he is willing to take a massive hit on his salary. Which is very rare for players to do.

I think our best bet is probably going to be one of those Bale/Coutinho style loans where we subsidise some of his wages in order to get a team to take him off our hands.

I'd be amazed if we found a club willing to take him on loan (or buy him) that will pay the entire 200k p/w.

Maybe, just maybe, if a big enough club takes a punt he'll actually put in some effort to impress them and we'll find a buyer.

In reality, a couple of failed/middling loans while he slowly sees out his contract and milks us for every penny seems the most likely outcome.

Who knows how accurate that point of view is but ultimately, actions speak louder than words and TN doesn't show any of the signs of a player who is applying themselves in accordance with the manager's gameplan.

If we can get him out somewhere (Italy/France ideally) I think he can shine in a less physically demanding league/team and perhaps we can get a few bob back for him in the medium term.

I honestly don't get the wankfest over his "talent".

When I was in Amsterdam about 15 years ago I was having a wander around Centraal station and they were having a freestyle competition going on with a temporary grandstand and everything. It was awesome having just come out of a coffee shop *nudgenudgewinkwink* and I sat down and watched it for a good 3-4 hours. The technique and "talent" these guys had was un-fucking-believable. The finalists defied the laws of physics.

Not a single one of them would make it as a pro player though because then you don't have the ball at your feet 100% of the time.

I think we’re stuck with our own Ozil. A player who’s happy to sit on a ridiculous high wage and doesn’t really care if he plays football or not.

His talent is really obvious.

His vision and weight of pass is often spot on, there aren't many players in the league with that talent. Unfortunately though, the rest of him including his attitude is terrible.

There is no doubt he is very gifted with the ball at his feet, but it's not enough.

7 big chances created in 2 and a half years.
6 goals and 5 assists in 2 and a half years.

Compare that to Son's 30 big chances created in the same time period, or everyones current favourite whipping boy PEH who has made 5 big chances in a year less.

No, it's not obvious at all.

I bet its the same blokes who fall for the old beer goggles trap when they are on a night out ?

If Tanguy had done that little flick that Dele would have scored vs Morcombe but for a magnificent save, we'd all be getting told that is reason enough to show he has it in his locker and we should keep him. But it was Dele so that narrative isnt being used.
