I've not watched the highlights but from your viewing as I've never noticed it in many leagues does he have to deal with 2 banks of 4 too often? we suffer it roughly 30 games a season in the league. players like N'jie and GKN looked good because the highlights showed the French league as being pretty open

Yeah a good point, but from what I saw he’s starting off attacks from deeper, rather than the likes of N’jie and GKN who are expected to make things happen closer to the opponents box.

Mostly agree but we need a more dynamic RB to make us harder to defend against

I think both our full back positions need upgrading to be honest.

If I could keep two of our main four, it would be Rose and Aurier.

Replace Davies with someone like Tierney from Celtic, and replace Trippier with someone like Wan-Bissaka, although the latter is probably verging on impossible.

Of course that raises questions about the future of KWP but it then gives him slightly longer to make the step up before Aurier inevitably moves on.

However I do agree that upgrading our midfield will help as it'll ease some pressure on the back 4/5 and hopefully give younger player like KWP and Foyth room to breathe and develop rather than making silly errors when they're under pressure.

you can only withdraw them if they are injured?

you start telling your players to not play in an International tournament a semi finals at that, and a possible medal, you will have them handing in transfer request

Man U and Liverpool players didn’t have a problem withdrawing from meaningless games over the last few years. It’s not like it’s a proper tournament.

In another window Davies would be there to be upgraded but I think it's too much to ask to get another left back this summer. We have to prioritise.

In addition we might get Sessegnon who could definitely play there.

there's a medal, and a trophy and it's the 1st time the competition has been played.

Lingard at Man U should of never played the Wolves FA Cup game after being carried off 2 games running. perhaps their players are not bothered about international caps, but Kane, Alli, Dier and Rose are proud to play for their country

To be honest, I feel personally in regards to these types of transfers where usually we would be trumped by the richer club becomes harder for a couple of reasons now. All ITK suggests we are willing to pay what it takes to get the right player! Clearly there will always be a top end we will not break above but it does mean other clubs have to and may not want to go that high. If we are offering better wages than we did previously this again means other clubs have to offer even more than our limit is. Lastly as we all see and speak about in the Bale thread clubs have to see this as a warning to stop signing players with crazy money on transfers and wages. It all makes it a more level playing field even if it isn't 50/50 it's no longer 90/10 favouring them. So hopefully this allows us to go and buy a player like Ndombele, Lo Celso and who ever else we deem good enough.

the trouble with KWP this season is he either has to be included in the squad, loaned or sold as he will now be classed as a senior squad member

2 banks of 4 are very hard to break through when you try to do it by just passing the ball around and trying to find a killer pass. When you have players who will take opponents on it can pull their defence out of shape and create gaps. City do it with players like DeBruyne, B Silva, Stirling and Sane to great effect and it often ends up with a tap in. By contrast, we seem to go predominantly from side to side looking for gaps.

Myself I would use Davies as cover for Jan, try and allow Jan a bit more rest in certain games especially if Toby does go

From that piece of video he looks to have the Sissokoesque ability to tumble forward with the ball at his feet beating three opposition players and just when you think he is going to fall over he regains his balance and finds himself in acres of space.:)
You'd hope his incisive forward passing will encourage our front men to a higher level of movement ahead of him.

Hopefully Kane will actually be able to sprint next season.

Ndombele is more an 8 where as Rodri is a DM. City probably need a DM more with Fernandinho getting on a bit.

Rather have Ndombele than Rodri as I think he is better all round but they would fit in the team a bit different.

City wouldn’t be signing Rodri because they missed out on Ndombele. Rodri has been their first choice and he is what they need. They’d pretty much definitely blow us out the water for Tanguy if he was what they needed. Ndombele is more advanced and not a like for like Fernandinho replacement

They don't tend to bother too much about whether they need players - they tend to sign players because they're good and then try to figure out how to get them on the pitch, if at all.

Exactly. Look at Liverpool - Coutinho wanted to leave but Barcelona had to pay way over the odds for him. Now they probably feel safe with all of their best players. It's enough to put clubs off going for other big clubs best players now. PSG looked like they were the new bully but FFP has put them off from doing it anymore. Madrid are having to fork out 100m+ for Pogba or Hazard - and that's for two players who want to leave their respected clubs.

The days of bullying a club and that club having to accept a 30-40m sum are almost over.
All there stupid transfer decisions are hurting them now

I think this is a interesting summer.
There are traditional rich clubs which have issues :
i) PSG - hampered by FFP.They have to sell to balance books. They are looking at free transfer like Herrera to help them through this window
ii) Chelsea - Transfer ban hanging
iii) Barcelona - Spend their dough on Coutinho & Dembele. Now trying to move them out & bring Griezzman in. With that, I believe they will be done for the summer
iv) Real Madrid - They have to sell to buy. They are not getting value back for their sale targets like Bale, Cebellos,Marcelo, Isco etc. They want to buy but things are not easy
v) Atletico - They are losing so many players in their XI - most going on free. So, things are not easy to get their targets
vi) City & Liverpool :Squad is already with quality & may be in market for maximum of 2 players. In city's case, they want Rodri from Atletico. This means we have a free hit on Ndombele from PL
vii) United & Arsenal - No CL football. And Arsenal case , simply no money
viii) Juve already did their business with Ramsey. So, cannot see them going full on Ndombele . Other Italian clubs are not having the budget
ix) German teams usually do their big business before the season ends

Question is are we ready to take advantage, go for targets we want, spend the money and get them. It seems to me from likes of JJ that we are in very much heading the pack in most of our targets
