Lyon about to make some serious coin this summer. The way that Aulas is hiking Ndombele's price up makes me think he's doing it to get one over on Levy.
Not sure how true this is.

They had a strained relationship over the Lloris sale, but from what I've read, that's since been patched up and they have mutual respect for each other. Probably because they're both stubborn bastards.

If he signs then i’m quietly confident that Ndombele v N’Dombele will become the new Eriksen/Erikson.

There will definitely be a few people in the Ndembele corner, too.

Genuinely excited. COYS!
Mate, i'm waiting for the day someone will butcher Lo Celso and call him Los Elso. It's bound to happen.

True.

The Matchday thread is absolutely nailed on to have a showdown between those in the ‘Lo Celso’ camp facing off the avant-gardes of ‘Le Celso’.

Grammar police will get involved. Insults thrown. A debate about education in this country. Accusations of snobbery.

What a time to be alive!

I doubt we would be trying to sign him if he wasn't interested in coming here.
If we only signed players who were dying to come here we we never would've escaped the 90s. Unless we're offering silly money or it's a desperate/unfancied player, I think Levy has often had to bat his eyelids and show a bit of thigh to perusade certain players (think VDV, Eriksen, etc).

Hopefully he can retain a bit more of his dignity now that we have the new stadium.

You've put an image in my mind that's causing me a lot of discomfort. Thanks for that.

Why ?
It's never stopped west ham :sneaky:
No, they pay has-beens, injured players or complete shite and pay them silly money.

If west ham can attract any half decent player, it gives us all hope. Who the hell would want to play for them? Honestly? No Europe, no realistic challenge for anything, no bloody point!

Not to mention Aulas is the one with the last laugh currently after he got Levy to pay 12m euro for Clinton N'jie. Probably agreed they were even after that fleecing .

Eriksen wins off creativity for me. I've seen Ericksen, Erikson, Erickson at least. I'm not entirely sure if people are taking the piss the amount of times I see his name spelt wrong.

I’m pretty sure I once saw an Eryckson, but that might have been someone taking the piss.

Another report today from L'Equipe that we're making a big effort to push this over the line, and apparently Aulas' attempts to start a bidding war haven't been as successful as he wanted.

Anyone have a link to the original? Have seen this quoted elsewhere but can’t find the article itself.

This transfer, more than any other, is the one that I want. I think it would be fantastic.

Him and Winks patrolling the midfield, allowing Eriksen's replacement (whoever that is - whether it's Lo Celso, or Fernandes or whoever) would just be too bloody exciting
