As others have said, no one has the money to give us back what we paid for him in the current climate, and we're not gonna loan him out, so I really don't see him leaving. I just hope he has an epiphany, gets his head down, and starts fighting for a place in the team because he's wasting his talent currently.

Improving players must be part of a managers' remit - something Poch was exceptional at doing.
I’m always uncomfortable attributing player improvements where a player goes from young to experienced to a manager. I’m not sure there’s evidence as such of Pochettino improving many player’s base level, but perhaps more that for an extended period he got the best out of those players. It’s a subtle difference but a difference nonetheless.

I agree, it certainly has to be. But how long do you persist? And what damage is done while you do that?

Jose is no novice, he knows when a player doesn't have the right mentality, he knows when to cut losses.

Maybe you are right, I just can't help thinking selling him may well come back to haunt us.

It certainly feels like there is a lack of enthusiasm from TN's side though.

ill thought out and poorly researched signing made worse by giving him a ridiculous high wage.

Just need to get rid.

lazy, unfit but talented player who had one good season and now has a big contract and isn’t bothered.

he would suit Italy and plenty of players to swap him with out there.

I don't suppose many have considered that Ndombele could quite easily be having some mental health issues. Remember how badly Lamela suffered when he first joined and wanted out? Ndombele has come from France at a young age with high expectations. He then picked up a string of injuries and then the Manager he signed for got booted. He could well be suffering home sickness and depression which can be a huge de-motivator. He's apparently got a load of hangers on in his ear as well trying to pull the strings. All in all, I think it's well within the realms of possibility that there's much more to this than him just being a lazy fucker. Maybe he needs a bit of patience instead of being constantly pilloried. Just a thought.

Mourinho would pander to a player if he liked him. But Jose has had his mind made up before he even arrived. Ndombele is too creartive and too much flair for a defensive manager. Ironically, this type of player is what Jose’s teams need most.

such nonsense. If a hard working player is creative too, how would that be a negative?

The problem is not that Ndombele is too creative (as if such a thing could exist) it’s that he doesn’t work hard enough

Maybe he just took Poch’s philosophy of “you don’t sign to play, you sign to train” literally...

I think that price probably reflects a year of depreciation. In accounting terms, his value is whatever we paid for him, minus 1/5th (assuming it was a 5 year contract) for every year that passes until the deal runs out or he signs a new one. It basically means Levy is happy to pay for the year we've had from him, but a figure below 80%, of what we paid, is a loss.

I think the depreciation value shouldn't even be considered. Levy is trying to sell Aurier for the same value we bought him at with only 2 years left on his deal. We shouldn't even be considering knocking the price off TND after a poor 12 months. An example of this is Morata who Chelsea purchased for £60million (potentially rising to £70m). He had two average seasons at Chelsea and the loaned to Atletico for 18 months and sold with an obligation to buy for £58million. We need to hold out and accept a price that's right for us.

If anyone in a normal job went into work for a year and half-arsed performance we’d be sacked, let’s be honest.

The difference probably is the fact most normal jobs don't usually invest around £50m to take you from another company, nor do they have you tied down to a ridiculous contract you can't simply pay out.
