Mason coming in and leaving him out of the team was a disgrace.

I'm not surprised he's pissed off.
Mason started Tanguy in his first game and he turned in a poor lethargic halfhearted performance. Is it really that hard to believe that the guy who has slacked off preseason was already slacking off when Jose got fired? If anything I’m starting to think the criticism of Mason was way over the top and he may have been right to see the effort wasn’t there anymore.

Taking part in full training today. You’d think if he’d totally downed tools that wouldn’t be the case. All very odd.

He will probably has to turn up to training etc as part of his contract, otherwise he could be fined. Doesn’t mean he has to try hard at training to fulfil his obligations!

Has anyone said he'd downed tools? Thought he'd just said that he wanted to leave?
From the social media stuff the club put out, he's always there and always smiling.

I've no problem with anyone wanting to leave, as long as they behave in a professional manner until they get their move... If they get their move.

I also totally understand Nuno not including a player who has expressed their desire to leave. I don't really have a massive issue with this situation.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

I'm finding it hard to see any club, especially in this climate, willing to take a chance on him.

Sadly, this all reminds me of Ozil situation at Arsenal.
All the ability.
Not so much the application.

I can see us lumbered with him until next year when he goes to a Fenerbache type club with us paying a large percentage of his wage

Gutted it hasn't happened for him at Spurs. He has so much talent, his attitude sucks though. Such a shame, he could be up there with the very best but I just don't see it happening for him anywhere unless he can change his mental state.

Just read Dragons info from earlier this afternoon. Whoever did the scouting and back ground checks on this waste of money should be sacked if they are still in anyway connected to the club. If the checks on him were not done sufficiently that is a disgrace.

fwiw the name I keep coming back to is Jonathan de Guzman - used to play for Swansea. you can read the full thread about it here, but to summarise the player has a problem, the club find that inconvenient, and they make his life hell because they just presume he's faking it. to me, something like this (not as severe as a hernia but something else) makes much more sense than "professional athlete forgets how to be athletic". do you know how much effort it takes to be an athlete at any level, let alone the Premier League?

it's just baffling that a lot of blokes i see who can barely get their replica kit over their belly are so sure the problem is "he can't be arsed".

Whatever it is, he's had it since a youth player. It's a "condition" that follows him around, and hasn't come up in several medicals.

again, i'm not saying it's a hernia. i'm saying we don't know these people and yet everyone's a behavioural psychologist lol.

also, the amount of effort it takes to go through youth football to eventually play for a national side is staggeringly rare. either he's so talented that he didn't have to try (in which case fucking hell, let him do what he wants) or maybe it's not just "he can't be fucked".

Its different. Ozil is alot more proven and was instrumental for a couple of seasons with Sanchez. He was also a world-class player on his day.
Tanguy is nowhere near; both in terms of what he has done for us, and also his overall ability.

I was pointing towards the fact that he's got a history of "can't be arsed".

Benny was seldom different. Lots of talent, but wasn't massively bothered about the sport.

This is a good point. Tanguy might simply not be suited to the PL or us; it might not be a matter of effort.
