No!
We need someone who gives a shit.
Has an once of dedication to his craft.
Produces more than one moment every 4/5 games.
Works for the team.
Has an element of fight in him.
Gives a shit about himself- without this we're all nothing- he's nothing to me- get him out of the door.
To think he's our record signing and one of the top earners too boot!
That made me feel better at least (and I was really happy when he signed!)
He has let the club(and us) down... more importantly, he has let himself down and wasted a talent that most can only envy.

I know I should be given a year in the loony bin with personal supervision by Nurse Ratched for this

but I still hold out hope that he could be a success for us in a Spurs shirt

I'm not sure if there are 5 players with technical ability like his in world football. a genius to be sure, but a truly lazy and moody one.
I’d love for him to be successful with us as well. If he was motivated he’d walk into the team

I hear his from Jordan a lot, and wonder whether this logic is the reason why he no longer owns a football club. By saying this isn't he suggesting that all assists depreciate in terms of value with time?

I like a lot of what he has to say, but it bugs me when he says this about signings. I'm probably (most definitely) completely in the wrong, but I don't see how he can apply this.
I'm fairly sure Jordan is right here. Amortisation means dividing his book value over the length of the contract and depreciation each year.

So 64m / 5y = 12.8m depreciation on the books each year.

After 3 years his book value would have gone down by 38.4m = current 25.6m book value (accounts).

He's not the first to waste his talent or the last. He could be a killer but one day he will look back and regret his career

Steep learning curve for the club

I don't think it's to be taken absolutely seriously but it gives you a ballpark figure - if the player performs to a decent standard, not standing out for better or worse, it indicates where the rough value is a year, two years etc. into their contract. If they exceed expectation, their price will go up even with a shorter contract.

If they don't live up to expectation, well...

With two players next to him to do the donkey work (PEH, Biss, Skipp or Bent) he would definitely work as the advanced CM in a 3-5-2. He has the passing range and skill set up play that role.

Unfortunately and rightly so, we don’t carry passengers in the squad anymore so I only see one conclusion here.

I don't think he will have any regrets as he gets paid anyway. He has not demonstrated that he gives a shit about perceptions or any evidence of self reflection motivating him.

I can't believe it's even in question, he's 100% not making it with us. Never going to have that work ethic for a Conte team.

There’s an element of regret about how it panned for him at Spurs. I felt similar about Soldado and Jansen. Ndombele felt like he was going to be a prince across the park. It just didn’t work out. I wish him well.

Let's face it, we'd struggle to give him away at this point.

How long before we start thinking of an aurier/aubamayang type solution?

Biggest give away is that apparently he wanted to go back to lyon and really pushed for that. In the documentory he had to be talked into staying as well. He just doesnt seem to have that much fight about him. Would rather be comortable then push himself. I dont really blame him for that. But it will prevent him from ever reaching that level.

Mourhnio described him right, in terms of ability, and vision he is as good as it gets. The guy should be a mainstay in a very good france side. Spurs should be a stepping stone for him before moving on to Real Madrid or another super club rather then a flop we cannot get rid of.

Instead he isnt even always selected for France and risks not making it at even a half decent club. I think he might just get one more bite at the pie after spurs. If he gains some form back some good club might take a punt on him. I hope that happens as a football fan i would like to see more of his ability.

I know what you mean fella. I would want him to be the player we thought he would be. Though abject performances and felt like playing with 10 men at times(not me personally!)

No, I don’t think he would. He’d have had to have been motivated from an early age and developed parts of his game he just doesn’t have instead of coasting on his insane level of skill. That got him pretty far but I just think he’d have always struggled “tactically”, as conte would put it, even if he was trying.

Soldado and Janssen were just not very good, they worked hard unlike Ndombele

i completely agree with this too.

Honestly, as technically accomplished as he is, I actually don’t think he gets the tactical side of the game very well from a defensive perspective. Which for a midfielder in a Conte team is a fundamental problem.

I think it’s easy for us to look at a player and think: is he technically good enough? Are his fitness levels good enough?

…and if the answer to both those is ‘yes’ then he’s good enough. But think what Bentancur added from a defensive perspective when he came.

I’m not sure TN’s brain is geared to (for instance) picking up midfield runners, anticipating attacks and stopping them at source, to pushing himself to go that extra yard when the chips are down.

We might consider these things the easier part to add than the previous attributes, and they may be, but if you actually can’t do them, then you’ll never get into a Conte team.

In short, when you take all the above: I actually have doubts that he is a good enough midfield player to on get in this side in anything other than a limited role (ie not in a 2), irrespective of a change in attitude

With how hard working the team is now he will look even lazier if he ends up playing for us again. No chance

I want him to be another team's "problem" and it just so happens that Premier League has a variety of teams that could do with a player with his skillset, while being able to handle his salary and hopefully pay a decent loan fee. You can go on having your contempt for him, more power to you. I don't begrudge him for the way things turned out and I don't think he went out his way to as you put it "rinse us". It just didn't work out for they way we would've hoped. End of the day, I just want the club to be able to recoup some of the money spent they on his transfer and use the funds to move the team on to greater heights. If that's misguided, cool. I'm okay with that.
Only a handful of premier League clubs could pay his wages. There's absolutely no chance of any of them taking him.
