Can't imagine Rennes has the money to buy him permanently.

I suppose a loan is better than nothing though.

Yet we all have performance reviews in our jobs annually and if not meeting the standards set by our companies we are put on a pathway to improve or have our contracts terminated. I don’t understand why players aren’t the same, are they not just thfc employees?
I don’t think players are employees. I think (and could be wrong here) that player contracts are documented as service provision: ie they’re fixed term contractors.
If they had fixed term employment contracts, non renewal would be treated as dismissal, so players would get redundancy rights and unfair dismissal rights if their contracts were up and the club didn’t offer an extension.

  • Saying it might be a loan 👎
  • Bakayoko seems to be their first choice - not sure if they might get both
  • Their manager (Bruno Genesio) was Lyon manager when Tanguy was there

EXCL – Mercato: After Bakayoko, Rennes is thinking of Ndombele!

Revealed exclusively by le10sport.com, and since confirmed by several colleagues, the track leading to Tiémoué Bakayoko is still under discussion on the Rennes side. And according to our sources, the profile of Tanguy Ndombele, whom Bruno Genesio knows perfectly, is also being studied on the side of the Bretons.

The sale of Lovro Majer accelerates a little more the file of the midfielder on the side of Stade Rennais . Since the beginning of the summer, Florian Maurice and his teams have been preparing for the arrival of an experienced player in the midfield. As revealed by le10sport.com on July 23 , then confirmed by the newspaper L'Equipe , Tiémoué Bakayoko is part of Rennes' plans. Just like OL , the French midfielder is a lead for this summer. But he is not the only one…

If the Bakayoko track is still open and under discussion on the Rennes side , the Bretons have also opened another file, quite similar. This is Tanguy Ndombele ! A profile of experience, which Bruno Genesio knows perfectly since he had it at Olympique Lyonnais . Discussions are underway, at this very moment, to try to study the possible options.

A loan for Ndombele?

If Stade Rennais has a financial surface to invest by September 1, it is not impossible to see the Ndombele track turn to a loan. Under contract with Tottenham until 2025, the player loaned to Napoli last season cost Spurs 65 million euros. Tottenham still aspires to recover a nice check to " limit the damage ". Courted in Turkey and Saudi Arabia, Tanguy Ndombele could be seduced by a return to France…

They won't be able to afford his wages but definitely have the money to afford his transfer fee.
Do we jump in on the doku city/West Ham situation. Match the offer and throw in ndombele for free. Big right off financially but takes out the 200k per week salary and gets in a young winger

What does it mean that they've activated his track? Is he underperforming as a footballer because he's been focusing in the recording studio?
Hope we're not loaning him to them or the stick him on the bench and watch his value deteriorate like they did with Rodon and Spence.

Players have to take responsibility. Rodon was getting matches but just didn’t impress and lost his spot. Clubs are trying to win, if our loan players aren’t pushing on and producing on these loans you can’t fault the club for not playing them.

Spence choose his own loan destination last year. He chose poorly. He went there because a starter was out injured, but did not do enough to fight for the job when the starter came back, and then I think picked up a knock towards the end.

Apparently we want 15m euros for him.
Apparently the Moon is made of cheese!
' want' is the key word there. I'll be amazed if we ever get a fee for him. Everyone knows we want to offload him and everyone knows what he is like. We won't even get a loan fee that isn't swallowed up by the proportion of wages we have to meet.
