I think the point about strikers and their confidence is an important factor here. I remember Adebayor doing really well at being the main man and getting the arm around the shoulder but struggling with other managers and being part of the squad.

There is a good possibility that Ange's personality could be really helpful to him.

His record pre Chelsea was impressive.

My only worry is being wasteful in front of goal. We have enough like that.

But you never know if his confidence returns, his pace means he will likely get a lot of chances, given the way we play under Ange

Ange will back himself to rekindle that previous form.

We're not picking up a world class senasation in January.

This is a clever move with no real downside.

But the upside could be massive.

I actually liked him as a footballer when he was at Chelsea, but I can't imagine him chipping in with too many goals. His finishing is poor.

After watching last night it's hard to argue that we don't need someone up top.

I don't have a huge amount of confidence in him suddenly turning it around, but not sure he can be less effective than Gil.

Ah, I forgot about the Euros angle.

Hopefully Timo wanting to impress ahead of a home Euros will be as driven as Adebayor wanting a new long term contract.

It's a bit random.
Is he better than what we have? Is he prolific enough to have an impact. Time will tell but not particularly confident on this based on his Chelsea time.

Well it looks like it’s getting done so time to back to lad regardless if one has reservations or not. Look forward to see what Ange can do with him

Assuming Ange is onboard with this I'm all in. Son's away, Veliz is out and Dane Scarlett has barely kicked a ball. No idea how Werner has been performing in Germany but Ange must have seen something he likes or the data adds up.

He can play across the front three. I think definitively better than sess and Gil, probably a better backup striker to richy too than Scarlett. Seems a shrewd move to me in a window that is difficult to get players in. If it doesn’t work, he goes back presumably. Worth the gamble

Fair play to the club we are super light in attack now, at least they are doing something.
