  • He's shite

Difficult to establish if this Redcafe poster is talking about Rashford, Marital, Onana, Varane, Casemiro, Mount, Sancho or Werner.

Healthy player, 10/10 signing. Doesn't feel like typical Paratici cooking, maybe Munn making moves or somebody else. Werner, Richarlison and Kulusevski pressing together could be sexy to watch.

Looking at his stats on transfermarket makes interesting reading. Used a lot more as a centre forward when playing in Germany back in 19/20. Then when he came to Chelsea utilised a lot more on the left wing or as a second striker by Fat Frank.

His record noticeably worse at Chelsea as he wasn't properly utilised. I think his speed is definitely something we can use to get in behind defences, and with Kulu, Brennan, Son and Madders assisting he will be dangerous.

Injury record also looks ok. Nothing major or no great big swathe of games missed in the last couple of seasons.

I like this move, makes so much sense. New player in with a low option to buy, think he'll score goals with us. He was bloody brilliant before he went to Chelsea

Will be useful as a squad player for 6 months to cover the left forward and center forward position.

Just read through seventeen pages regarding Werner.

My quick take is that the Club scouting on this one is unbelievable, been kept secret, and is one of quality with a sensible no risk option (ref: Porro, Kulu, Bentancur).

He can slot straight in anywhere across the front line, has pace, trickery and excellent ball control. At a time when we have Son out, Solomon yet to return and if Richy picks up a knock no experienced cover then this deal is all win, win for us.

Medium term Werner has six months to prove his worth, and Ange has time to shape his game for us. Werner has PL and European, International experience and adds competition for places.

With the possibility of European football next season, we can add quality to our depth at a reasonable cost, and still look to strengthen in other areas of the team come Summer.

Someone convince me that this signing has no upside?

United fans out here calling Werner shite when their idea of signing attacking reinforcements in January was Weghorst. Lmao.

My only real concern with this deal is the later temptation to take a cheap pre agreed option rather than use the summer to get an ambitious signing.

I hope the default position is that this is a loan. (And Danjuma last season gives me hope that this is indeed the case)

We have half a season to assess him in training and on the pitch. If we don't want him he goes back. If we do it's because he's done well and 15-20m is peanuts. What's not to like?

I love this transfer. He was badly treated by the Chavs and never seemed to fit in. I think we are the right club for him so hopefully he does well and finds his quality again.

Don't expect anyone to like him, but it is interesting hearing other fans views on this. Generally agree with Goldbridge's take.
