I think the observation that "his finishing has been poor" is overstated. I don't think that he is any more wasteful than (for example) Richy's two chances early in the first half on Friday.

Let's look on the positive side.

Interesting watch, that, seeing so many goals back-to-back gives you a bit of an insight that you might not otherwise have had, as most of the time I saw him not on Youtube was for Chelsea. Bit Kane-esque with some of his finishing here in terms of a consistently short backlift and taking a lot of shots a beat early, which you always feel keepers hate. Also not always going for the high percentage finishes and obvious shot locations. Good header of the ball too.

Should be in his prime at this age. Let's hope we can coax this type of form back out of him.

could easily be a confidence thing, overwhelmed by the pressure/poor system fit at Chelsea of another failed Striker, might not have enjoyed his time there, goes back to an ex but the spark isn't the same.

And that's what concerns me. I'm worried we could have a Havertz on our hands. Just look at him today. His finishing was poor because he always seemed to want to take two touches when one was potentially much better.

Meanwhile (and being honest) I'm not a fan of Werner.

It's a six month audition for Werner. Our risk is non existent. We're not dropping 60 large on him. If f he does well we can get him for 18m.

Only for six months and It could also turn out to be an excellent move, I understand peoples apprehension though, but we're not lumbered with him long term and we're not in a position to guarantee the success of a permanent forward in a limited sellers market.

And to add to that the RBL season before he went Chelsea he was Elite. 90% of players never have a season like that

His goals at Chelsea was poor but he did get 12 assists in his first season

The Shed End... even they hate him

Rory Jennings has made a hate filled rant about " Judas" Timo going to Spurs on his YouTube channel, and at the same time saying he was so bad he would get in a worst ever Chelsea eleven.

What a dick

It's the definition of a win-win situation for us and I personally cannot see a down side.
He does well, we get a good player, approaching his peak for a bargain price.
He doesn't do well and off he goes back home.

I felt the same with the potential move for Jota. If it's a six month loan with an option, we'd be stupid not to do it at present with our squad the way it is.

Imo any move for an attacker in this window was going to come with question marks. This is as reasonable as any and has been expedited. I’m good with it.

Reminds me very much of the Kulu, Bentancur and Porro seals.

Like you said a no risk option, can cover along the front line, and if like the aforementioned players, cheap as chips to buy of he sets the side alight.

Win/Win that Levy is all over.

No fan of Werner but can’t be likened to Havertz as we are not stuck with paying £65m and needing to force him in to the team to justify it.

where did you see that?

"The talks between Tottenham and Werner, especially with Ange, gave him already more self-confidence and he's really thrilled [for] the transfer," says Hinze. "It's not like the mood that he comes to Tottenham now [is] with the head down. He's looking forward. "It's his last chance to be on the Euros [squad], so he has to be a good player in the second part of the season."

I was thinking about the Euros earlier as being factor for this mpove. Not sure how close he is to the Germany squad but that's going to be a pretty big motivator.

If he finds some form he is a monty for the squad.
Really only Fullkrug in front of him.
And Nagelsmann knows him well.
He will be mega motivated and I think he takes the central role for us from United on.
I just have a feeling this might be the break we need.
