This tickled meWelcome to the Club to my fellow countryman, Tim O’Werner. Not to be confused with that German lad who was at Chelsea.

This point was raised by the Chelsea journalist on the Athletic podcast that I referenced in this thread earlier today.Forgetting stats and purely from an eye test POV I'd say his work rate is extremely good. He presses and runs tirelessly but the one point that's often missed is that his movement is exceptional, world class in fact and that alone should create space and chances for others even if he isn't scoring. Another point about him not always mentioned due to his high profile misses, is that his assist record is pretty good even when he's not scoring. When you look at his goal involvement numbers they are actually pretty good for a forward despite his goal tally being lacking at times.
shock zinchenko messes up in defenceThis point was raised by the Chelsea journalist on the Athletic podcast that I referenced in this thread earlier today.
He took the example of the match winning goal in the CL final against City and how Werner's movement has a big part to play.
Stones has been dragged out of position and Werner makes a run in behind him when Mount has the ball. Dias is frightened of Timo's pace and and leaves his LCB spot to cover the right, which in turn opens up the space for Havertz and Zinchenko doesn't read the situation quick enough to prevent the goal.

He still rarely does. Not the world's best defender.Zinchenko doesn't read the situation quick enough to prevent the goal.
I swear he was my priest back in Leitrim! He’s done well for himself since then.Welcome to the Club to my fellow countryman, Tim O’Werner. Not to be confused with that German lad who was at Chelsea.
I assume it is this one:The first comment below
and Brennan off the benchFront four of Sonny, Madders, Kulu & Werner for the run in could be tasty!
He can put his own boots on and everything...
Yep, I'd be amazed if he doesn't start at LW against United.Showing him a lot in the left channels there
