It'll be interesting to see how Werner gets on now VAR is here. So many times flagged marginally offside. I wouldn't be surprised if he's better at timing his runs than it looked when he was here last. His pace would have made it look worse than it was.

He was in the league only a year and a half ago.

We've had VAR since 2019.

Just got a weird feeling about this one, like he's going to catch light. It's in there somewhere and those Covid times and Chelsea striker curse just completely buried what you can see in that 100 goal video. Few players put together a reel like that and then are just shite for no reason. Just hope that Ange can find it and bring it back, because that Leipzig Werner starts for this Tottenham. If we can give him enough chances to get on a bit of a run, then he might have the confidence to take the types of goals he demonstrably has in him.
Yes mate, I'm exactly the same.
Just got a feeling that he's going to click, feel comfortable here and that we may have actually stumbled upon a Son succession plan.
He comes across as a thoroughly nice bloke and I reckon he's really going to enjoy his time here and with the squad we have.

My god he seems so nice I feel l feel like I'll get upset if anyone is mean to him!!! Really hope he does well. On form this is the type of player you want to see playing for Spurs.

Don't worry... Richy will be offside before Werner has the chance 😊

For me it’s the crowds being back and being able to actually live his life alongside football. He arrived in the pandemic and was at soulless Chelsea where it’s every money grabber for himself I think we will see a different timo in a spurs shirt.

It's a shame Sonny wasn't there for his first training session. He felt kind of isolated and the warmth of Sonny would of made him feel included more.

You watch this one?

He was a seriously dangerous player prior to signing for Chelsea. Say all you want about different leagues / easier chances, but some of these finishes are superb no matter which league or division you’re playing in.

I honestly think he needs to take his first big chance for us and then hell go on a run.

Looking at his comps and some of the goals he was involved in at Chelsea, what struck me is that he seems to be really well suited to the way we attack the box. He is extremely effective at creating and receiving cutbacks, which is probably one of the most dominant features of our forward play. Also seems to be really unselfish which is also encouraging to see - a lot of the success of Ange's style of football depends on good decision making for the final pass, and that’s there to see with Werner, even during his time at Chelsea where he was low on confidence and under a lot of pressure. Maybe he wasn’t efficient enough as a goal scorer, but efficiency is the word that springs to mind to describe his style.

Might just be me clutching at straws, but watching that interview I can see how he might have struggled to fit into that Chelsea dressing room.
