Really not sure what to make of this.

Seems a nonsense to me to have 5 CB's (assuming Poch plays him and Vertonghen at CB) when the squad needs another striker (as Kane cannot play 60 games and we currently have no other goalscoring strikers), an experienced CM and ideally (although I doubt it) a speedy AM.

So my logic is that if this report is correct, then either Fazio is to be sold (in addition to Kaboul and Chirches) or one of the CB's is to be the DM we need.

So that's a fake account now? Jeez.

I like him and, for the right fee, would take him for sure. Do have concerns 1) if he costs c.£15m that's going to take us up to £25m - if we can't shift some squad players, how much more will we realistically have and 2) what does this mean for Dier? That's a real concern as I think he needs games next year but worried about him battling Fazio to be first reserve

I remember so many on here shooting others down for suggesting we sign him during every transfer window from when he was at Ajax - right up until this window. :ROFLMAO: 6m in 2013 doesn't seem too bad a price now does it? :ROFLMAO:

(No need for a barrage of neg rep and abuse - we've all miscalled players over time) ;)

Really hope we sign him. Always rated him - and to echo others in this thread would slot in perfectly with Vertonghen. I hope we don't get sniped at the last minute. Hope Verts is filling his smart phone inbox with encouraging texts.

Why the fuck would we need him?! It's probably been said, but Dier and Vertonghen with Fazio and Wimmer as back-up is more than good enough.

If they were good enough, why did we concede so many bloody goals last season then? (Apologies to Wimmer)

First full season for Dier, first season in English football for Fazio, Vertonghen wasn't at his best by any means, ridiculous inconsistencies at RB, no true DM.

Plenty of reasons.

We really shouldn't be concerning ourselves with Alderweireld when we have far more important positions to address. The only situation in which it makes sense is if a sizeable bid has come in for Fazio. I think this is just the player's agent testing the waters, no doubt he'd be keen to play for us.

thank you, its nice when it stems from facts, such as Toby playing DM a bit last season and doing quite well

Yeah. My friend once used sandpaper as toilet paper. He told me that It worked quite well. Why don't you guess which paper my friend buys from the grocery store next time when he needs some paper for whiping his ass?

Gards on Toby:

@Gards44: true but fee is an issue! We are not being tight just realistic and Southampton will pay more which is making it tough!

@Gards44: He wants us they are playing hardball
