Am I the only 1 who's not fussed about him going? Look I realise he's a class CB not disputing that. This season before the injury he wasn't at his best got injured then when he got injured. Regardless of how good he is we simply didn't miss him. Sanchez slotted in superbly and Jan had his best season in a Spurs shirt! Obviously losing a player that good is upsetting but we haven't missed him at all this season sp if he wants to go so be it in my opinion.

Having said thisnif he goes United and we don't get Martial I'll be livid.
So we're already in a denial phase where we all convince ourselves that losing Toby wouldn't be bad just like losing Walker wouldn't affect us at all.

If we get Martial in return then I'd be ok with this, but if we don't then what the hell are we playing at. Sell him abroad, it's not like Walker who's english, Toby is belgian international who has already played in Spain, there must be a foreign club that would pay for him.

Very annoying but I think we will and are seeing more and more deals between top prem clubs simply because it is own micro market. The sort of fee Man U will pay for Toby hardly anyone else bar possibly Madrid would pay for a 29 yr old.

So I can see the sense in taking the money for his sale and spending it on a player who does want to play for us

Looool watch us sell him to United and then asking for Martial in August and them telling us to fuck off.

Just only going outwards for us, right? Last player we signed from a big club in England was Keane and that’s because he was a monumental flop.

It is so tinpot if we sell Toby to them without figuring Martial into the deal.

[Update 375] Jjetset on Martial - August 8th

"We tried our best to complete the deal but but agents were being difficult and United won't play ball."

Not at all. The bloke clearly wants out. Doesn't want ro be here everything we have heard is about him wanting out. Why keep someone who doesn't want to play for us and we have genuinely got decent players to fill the void? Toby is class no doubt about it but he wants to go.

Read between the lines.

Poch: "I want de Ligt!!! You said we don't have to sell to get these deals done, so get to it."

Levy: "We can do that!"

(levy furiously attempts to sell Alderweireld before buying de Ligt...)

Not sell him to a domestic rival, fucking obviously.

Not arguing per se.

But....

If nobody is offering similar money and the money they are offering is what we want for another player, would you consider it?

We can't hold on to him cause his value is gone next year. We cash in snd try to reinvest or lose out.

You’re burying your head in the sand. Selling the second best CB in the league to a team that already finished above us - fixing a problem area for them in the process - is pathetic.

I have no problem in selling him but strengthening a rival is just stupid, and I refuse to believe someone like Toby won't have admirers from Spain and France.

If they are paying 75million that is not going to include Martial folks. We are taking the money and running and hoping our replacement targets work out.

I never said I was happy with selling him to United. Should only be selling abroad only way we should allow him to join United is if Martial is comong the other way. Game is about opinions which is also why SC is so successful because we all have different opinions

I think we can all agree that a healthy Toby would be one of the best in the league.

But, how would we feel if we fleece United fo £60M and Toby plays 20 matches for them next season? Good deal or bad deal?

Not sure why anyone is surprised we're selling Alderweireld to a Premier League rival - we literally did the same thing last summer.
