The backlash will be some rants on internet forums though, no big deal tbh.

I agree but we'll see what the club does. Personally it looks like a pat on the head from Utd and the media will run with it. It'll be Matic to Utd x10. You know they'll take the negative spin, same old Tottenham approach. So it will be more than just some angry moaners on twitter and facebook.

Guessing the big contract renewals may well be seen as enough goodwill in the clubs eyes but we'll see.

Unless Levy can pull off a swap deal, which feels like it would be a magic trick for the ages, I imagine the Spurs PR team will just let the Toby sale sit and let ManU signing Toby eat up all the PR for that day. I could be wrong but from the outside it really seems our PR team likes to sit on things for a couple of days to get maximum exposure.

Big shame losing Toby. When fit and happy we had one of the best defenders in the world.
Bridges sound well and truely burnt so top dollar it needs to be now though And hopefully we find a top replacement.

Agree with the previous posts also, we may get the money and hope we get good replacements but losing Toby and Walker this summer and last will and has been a big loss.

can we not sell Toby with Shitoko as a double deal of sorts. Be content with 70 mil for the pair! If only Harry was managing somewhere!!

According to Alistair Gold, We're not currently in talks with United over Alderweireld

https://www.football.london/tottenh...eireld-14740558.amp?__twitter_impression=true

I saw something earlier that they were getting Fred signed up first and then we’re moving onto defensive targets.

We’ll try and fuck Man U over as much as possible on the fee, we can guarentee that. I just wish he wasn’t going to a rival. It sickens me us helping make another team better again.

Alasdair Gold is not ITK is he?
There are not quotes or anything, he just writes ‘football.london understands...’

I think this is just guesswork. The guess is almost certainly correct. It’s not exactly a bold shout is it?

Football London is pure 100% click-bait. I don't believe a single word they utter.

Is he the one who looks like Gerard from Peep Show who made a couple of videos of the progress from outside the stadium last season?

ManU would want to tie up any deal early. We will spin any sale out to the last minute unless it is totally in our interests. Not bothered about Martial as he is just one of many possible targets; if Toby is off to ManU then we will get the best price we can. The only downside is if Toby refuses to go anywhere but to United in which case his value drops

He hasn't played much for us, so waiting until after the WC is best for us, if he played well his price will go back up and if he doesn't we still stay on the price we want for him.

and might also refresh a possible move from a European team, especially if he has a good WC.

I think he has 2yrs left, so if he doesn't get the move in the summer due to not getting the right offer, he will be doing a lot of training with the youth development squad and only earning 50K.

The question is, what would Levy hate more, doing a shit piece of business with United or Allowing somebody whos wronged him to stay.

I find it very hard to believe Levy will let him go to a rival without getting a decent fee. think he would rather let him suffer on a lower wage than some of the youth, than be out of pocket. I'm sure Poch will understand, as long as it doesn't effect his choices which we've been told don't revolve around sales
