So did he turn up or not then?
Yeah do we actually have any evidence that he showed up for his medical? There was that other Belgian reporter guy last night saying that no medical for Toby had been planned. Extremely sceptical on the whole thing. IMO he won't end up at Spurs, due to all this legal stuff and we've heard nothing from Trix or JJ on it in the last few days.

If they've bid 20m we'll have to match that surely? Madrid will want to get most they can which stands at 20m now. If it was just down to Toby then we might as well change our bid to £1.
Wondered when Soton would do this, makes sense to up the price and make his asking price higher to drag deal out in hope we say fuck it.

It depends if Levy got them to sign something back in Madrid.

Who: JJetset
When: 3oth June
Where: Twitter

Q: Are Spurs going to get Alderweireld?

JJetset: no

Some of the rest of what he said made it into the Read Only, some didn't. You're taking a small part of the whole thing. He did say there were complications that didn't look like they'd be resolved. ITK isn't an exact science and things can change. Obviously these complications (which he couldn't originally go into but have since come to light anyway via the media) and things have changed. Just take all of it with a pinch of salr because marching around going 'wrong, wrong wrong' shows a complete lack of understanding as to how ITK works and will eventually lead to you losing your access.

Why? if the player says I want Spurs not Southampton thats that, not much the selling club can do. Spurs won't pay crazy money as he is not worth it. Want the player wants is and always has been the main deciding factor in all of this.

Surely not if they've already accepted a bid/agreed a fee. That's a pretty formal procedure.

However, we've only been going on reports that we had a bid accepted, so maybe we havn't.

You don't give Schneiderlin, you don't get Alderweireld.
The ONLY way now I see the Schneiderlin deal happening is if Southampton really want Toby and feel Schneiderlin is leaving anyway, and Levy somehow says sell us Schneiderlin and we leave you a clear run at Toby.

I find this highly unlikely.

The suggestion on twitter is still that Spurs are going get this over the line and as usual it's pretty much ONLY Sky sports that are spinning this saints last ditch attempt story.

MS will be holding out for Utd, would never work. Levy won't want to be seen to lose out a la Willian again also...

Haven't Southampton also tanked the idea of some kind of water tight contract if they have placed a higher bid. I mean why would they bid more, if legally the player by contract is yours. I think the legal angle was a crock of s***.

Could make then shift the goalposts though. Happens all the time surely, club gets higher bid and tells previous bidding club they have to match new bid. Atl Madrid will want to get as much money as they can.

There's a chance a lot of posters in this thread are going to end up with egg on their face after lording it over Southampton all day.

If it's only Sky Sports reporting it they're probably just trying to make people bet for Saints on SkyBet.

I agree with this A&C I just find it strange/worrying we haven't really heard anything on TA from JJ, Trix any of the other ITKs in the last couple of days. Usually when a deal is about to happen they are all over it. It's been a very strange deal.

Let's also not forget, Saints own ITK's were saying the deal was 99% done to us. I appreciate it's happenend before with Willian but I'd be gobsmacked if this deal doesn't happen now.

Agree and selling Spurs Schneiderlin would be impossible given the amount of ill feeling them them to us, would be a huge backlash on the south coast if that happened.

Yes, but there's a difference between receiving a bid and actually accepting one, I would of thought anyway.

So, they could receive multiple bids from different Clubs, and not actually accept any of them thus waiting to see if they receive better ones.

But the minute they accept a bid, it becomes formal. If TA is having a medical they've agreed a fee with us. So I don't see how Southampton bidding higher now would affect our agreed fee whatsoever.

(but if we havn't had a bid accepted, then that changes things obviously)
