No wonder he's still here.

When you freeze players out and then have a bloated squad to the point you are paying wages of players you can't register it doesn't half weaken your hand at the negotiation table. I don't see what club is going to go over 10 mill for him given the circumstances.

Tbh the only thing he couldn’t do was when he played was score, thought his link up play was alright ( better than Llorente anyway) although that’s going by memory and he last played about 20 years ago

Sites talking about us looking £12m for him. About as much as a snowballs chance in hell in getting £12m for a lump that hasn’t played in 18 months and when he did he couldn’t have scored paint.

He wasn't quick but he was aggressive and challenged for everything, and out himself about. He also held up the ball OK. Honestly based on yesterday I would give Janssen a go, even though he's not good enough. Llorente was soooo bad.

This is the exact reason you don't just buy players for the sake of it. Even worse here, this was one Poch had input on.

Doubt we'll even get that.

Poch liked Vincent Janssen but has only 3 CMs in the world he'll buy... something just doesn't add up there does it?
Not really, the next guy in the door to back up Kane was this weeks current red headed step child ... Might prove something else, but not what you're angling at.

with the money he is on and the fact we would have to pay to get rid my guess is we would take anything over 5m

Correct me if i’m wrong but I thought Janssen wasn’t even listed in the prem squad so we couldn’t play him at the weekend even if we wanted to?

Palace is a cup game, you don’t need to be in the pl squad to play in cups

From Ben Pearce:

Tottenham are looking for around £15 million for wantaway striker Vincent Janssen, who has attracted tentative interest from clubs in MLS, China and Europe, sources have told ESPN FC.

Janssen, who last played for Spurs in August 2017, underwent foot surgery in the summer but is now fully fit and has recently played in three Under-23 matches, including two in the past week where he has scored one goal and provided two assists.

Despite Tottenham's dearth of attacking options, with Harry Kaneand Dele Alli in the treatment room and Son Heung-min away at the Asian Cup, manager Mauricio Pochettino has made it clear that 24-year-old Janssen will not be recalled to the first team, stating simply: "He is not in my plans."

Janssen, who has scored six goals in 39 appearances for Tottenham, spent last season on loan with Fenerbahce. But sources have told ESPN FC that he now wants a permanent move away and is open to all offers.

Spurs, meanwhile, are aiming to recoup around £15m of the £17m they spent when they signed the Netherlands international from AZ Alkmaar in July 2016.

To be fair to Poch at the moment, we need fit players and if it meant Janssen getting a shirt number or being sold with no one coming in, i think we would all say keep him for the sake of it regardless if it meant going against your word.
You performed a u-turn over Toby, so why dont you do it over Vincent??

I guess that Toby has proven that he is a class defender but Vincent has not shown quite as much prowess in his position.
