Well he clearly doesn't appear to have a future with Spurs, so he either needs to have a rethink regarding wage demands if he's the stumbling block and wishes to rekindle his career.

Add to this, surely Levy can see that paying wages to a player who never plays is detrimental to finances, crunch the numbers and offset wage savings and asking price to get these lads shifted.

That's what a normal person would think.

Yet Poch said Llorente played well today. I hope he's not using the same criteria for judging potential recruits.
I think he’s saying that because he knows his confidence is shot and he knows we won’t be buying a forward now so Llorente will be our only striking option until Son returns. He’s going to try to encourage him and push him forward. He has no other choice.

I think that he really pissed off the board when he turned down the Brighton move. Cost the club big money. Probably can't be brought back as it would look like he defied the hierarchy and was given a second chance. That's my guess anyway.

Your right, there must have been some incident that has caused this situation, obviously Poch feels that if he brought him back it would show to the rest of the team that his beliefs and principles are not as strong as they seem.

It would seem Vincent clearly pissed off the powers that be. Which is a real shame, as there has always been some potential there. Perhaps if he were to approach Poch and the board hat in hand they may reconsider, given the state we are in with injuries. To me it would be a win win. If he does well, his transfer price goes up and we get rid this summer. If he’s just like before we at least get another warm body out there as cover while we manage our way through this injury crisis. And we get exactly what we were willing to accept as an offer anyway. What harm would it do.... in particular if we have no intention of buying someone this January.

Toby and Danny also upset Poch yet got a second chance. I just don't understand how he could have done something so bad he's virtually a non-person...

I don’t even want to entertain the idea but surely Poch swallowing his pride and letting Vincent back in (even if it’s just during this injury crisis) is better than forming out £2 million for Andy Carroll.....

Even at this late stage and as stretched as we are playerwise I guess you'll find out if he's got a future if he's playing for the u/23s on weds evening.

Desperate times, but I'd like to see him given a chance against Palace on Sunday.

Worst case scenario he performs worse than Llorente yesterday (unlikely) and we're out of the FA Cup but no worse off in the grand scheme of things. Best case scenario one flies in off his arse and we have another (albeit underwhelming) option for the Watford and Newcastle games.

Remember what Poch said about him halfway through his first season - when he failed to play in quick succession against Gent, Wycombe and Fulham

"He needs to show more and we’ll see. Maybe he will have the opportunity to be on the bench or play. Today we cannot be sure if he will be in the squad, on the bench or start from the beginning. Performance is always about how the players show their quality, their belief on the training ground. When you select the starting XI and the bench, I try to be fair. It’s normal that maybe he needs to show more.”

So we can say with some confidence that this guy did not do what was expected of him in training, did not show the right attitude, and then decided that a loan to a lower Premier League team was beneath him. If so, it's 100% right that he isn't considered. Playing him would send entirely the wrong message to everyone else. Poch has always been clear that you need to put in maximum effort in training and show the right attitude to be considered and we have far more to gain from maintaining that than we would from throwing him back into the squad out of desperation.

The Telegraph understand Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy is willing to take a £5million hit to sell striker Vincent Janssen this month. #THFC

Fuck me, We'd be lucky to get 5 mill at this point, letalone a 5 mill hit.
