Rather worrying that Poch didn't think he's worthy enough to start against a league 2 team.

It can work both ways in the sense that putting him on the bench will have got Janssen's back up and then by putting him on in the 2nd half Poch is saying, right show me what you can do. Although not great, he delivered what was asked of him.

I actually think that if he gets a league goal from open play we'll start to see a different player. I know it's optimistic thinking but it's just what I can envision too. There's definitely a good player in him IMO.

Also known as the Soldado effect. Perhaps we should just retire the number 9 shirt for a while. Thank god Kane choose 10 when most people wanted him to have 9 on his back!

Even when Soldado did score, he never pushed on! I loved him, really wanted it to work out. Hope Janssen can get his goal or two under his belt and push on, difference between him and Soldado is that he is young and has time! COYS

Actually played alright, made some decent runs and his distribution was better, still needs to relax though and stop fighting and exerting unecessary energy.

Eerily similar to the Soldado situation. The good thing about Janssen is he's only 22 so has time on his side.

He was decent yesterday, it's a shame the Wycombe keeper pulled off a top save at the end. Would have been great for Vince to have got the winner.

Its just exhausting defending him on here, so many positive parts to his game and once again he steps up and scores a penalty when he hasn't been banging them in for fun, once again he shows great hold up play and awareness to runners in and around the box, once again he provides a nice assist right when we needed it. Once again he makes plenty of good runs that go missed.

This guy has barely had 6 months here and he is still only bloody 22 settling in a new league, country and team. For 17m he has already surpassed what i was expecting from him. People that say he is shit and a flop are the same people that judged Sissoko on 4 minutes of football for us and are the same people that will moan in match threads when we go one nil down.

This is the best it has ever been at our club and all we need is some minor tweaks or a special AM in the summer window to continue this, especially with the emergence of Winks and likely emergence of Edwards next year.

Well done yesterday Vinny. Fuck all the BS on here about this guy.

Completely agree - needs to be looking for space, not someone to wrestle with.

He is the first player to struggle when they aren't first choice when they've moved to a new team. He's not even the first in our squad.

I'm hoping he spends this season getting up to speed, if he starts bagging league goals we could be challenging for the title.

If anything this is the perfect place for him to settle in, he just needs to keep working hard and the minutes in the pitch and the goals will come for him

His late game header had me so frustrated.

I mean, it's a shitty no power cross, he manages to get excellent elevation and power on it and still their dodgy goalkeeper manages to keep it out. He just can't catch a break it seems.

I have been wrong many times before but I just cannot see a player in this guy. His lack of agility/balance is of grave concern to me.

I was surprised Janssen didn't start, but I think Poch was concerned about starting Vince and then having to pull him off (oo-er). The game could have panned out exactly the same, with Janssen taking Son's spot, missing a couple of good chances, forcing the keeper into a couple of good saves but ultimately not scoring, and it leaves Poch with a big decision - change the game and risk destroying VJ, or keeping with him and getting knocked out.

By bringing Janssen on when we were down, we would either lose and hey the damage was already done, or we win and Janssen would be part of that. A goal and an assist is a nice return, still like to see a bit more pace in his movement and thinking, but still hopeful he will come good.
