My own take on Janssen after yesterday was all positive. He held the ball up well, brought others into play and his movement across the back line was excellent. I my eyes it was better than Harry.

There was a many times he could have been slipped in the his team mates would try the more difficult pass to someone else. It was p1ssing me off.

The chance he had was difficult to take, he did stab at it but it's a difficult technique to master.

I think once the understanding with his team mates improve, he'll get so much better.

Looking forward to him getting a goal from open play and see where that takes him.

Absolutely mate. Felt the same frustration as you.

I remember him screaming and pointing to where he wanted the ball and Dele just looked at him and played it back instead. Thats why im all for Lamela playing centrally as a AM. His eye for the thru pass is superb. He also linked up well with Janssen against Gillingham.

Absolutely no concerns. He is picking up good positions, he's contributing to the overall team play and we know he can finish. He just needs time, we weren't buying the finished product.

I'm just fully on the fence with him ideally I don't think he was the striker we needed we needed someone with pace to stretch defences.

His link up play is excellent and he's as strong as an ox but ultimately you don't really want you're striker to be the one forced to create you want him to put the ball in the back of the net.

And I'm not sure whether it's a lack of service or if he just doesn't have that GOAL threat in our league like soldado who thrived with crosses into the box came to us and suddenly realised we don't play that way and tried to adapt his game.

Maybe janssen is trying to adapt his as he's realised he's not getting as much space or not running away from defenders in this league so he's thinking what else can I add.

I would rather him just try and play within the goal area for now just to get his first goal and maybe for him to calm down for us to see the best of him

He is much younger than soldado and also bigger and stronger so holds the ball up much better. He's proved he can finish he just needs more time to get used to us and the PL.

A note on Vincent Janssen. He only netted twice in his first 13 games for AZ last season before he exploded into form. Just needs time!

TBF to Janssen he's only had 3 starts or so and already scored one goal and has two assists, which when you look at is actually really good for his first season so far in a new league. What Poch needs to do is play Lamela as a AM , Son on the left and Eriksen/Sissoko/GKN on the right. The Gillingham game showed us that when played centrally, Lamela can and will play some tantalizing through balls and even scored of a nice one - two with Janssen.

I'm very big big Janssen fan and wanted him since tranfer window (posted a lot of his youtube vids)
http://www.spurscommunity.co.uk/ind...-signs-for-spurs.125016/page-125#post-5119520 but from last night I think he need to coaching about how to beat off side trap and positioning. I can see some moments that Lamela, Alli didn't passed a ball to him coz they found out that Janssen is still in the off side position and not aware to going down to draw a line yet(and Jannsen moaned them not to passing--*). He very need to learn it now then he will fly and score will come. Is there any forward/attacking coach at our club? Like when we have Allen/Sir Les in the club. I think it the area that need to look at right now.

Patience is the key to success.

Janssen will come good. His already showing glimpses of what he can do...all he needs now is a goal! and that will come. Soon.

Patience will need to come with right coaching and seeking the weakness too, patience alone doesn't work. and I want him to success that all just an opinion to talk about my favourite player weakness and talk some football. And that why I aksing about forward/attacking coach at our club because not only Janssen have this ploblem Kane does too, I can't think about which staff take responsibility to this area, maybe we don't have one , good night SC

Conversely, the first time a person insists on a player only needing patience and time and is proven wrong, it would maybe make them realise in the future that some players simply are shit. Maybe make them realise it's not as simple as x player will be great in the future because player y ended up so amazing.

No. Nobody at Spurs is "simply shit". Some just don't get as good as we need them to be and we can't afford to go out and buy finished articles so everyone needs to be given time. Look at Rose. Look at Kane. Mason. Walker. Lamela. It's just dumb to even think about writing off players before they've had the time to develop. Rose for me is the best example of this, there are so many people on here which were raging about him for years. Throw Dembele in there as well. It's massively naive at this point to write anyone off in the squad. Let alone the striker we've only just bought months ago.

I can't wait to see him bully Stones on Sunday, dangle him by his feet and take his lunch money!!

The goals will come, the comparisons from some to Soldado are lazy and unfounded - VJ is clearly physically suited to this league in a way Soldado never was close to being, and his link play occurs in and around the box where he physically occupies the centre backs. Soldado was good at linking play but from much deeper and therefore less effectively
