Thought he showed glimpses of returning to form tonight
First half definitely. He seems to be affected negatively by breaking the weekly rhythm of matches. The whole red card/5 bookings seemed to put him right out of kilter. Keep him fit and suspension free and the form will return.

He can be as talented as he wants to be, but if he can't be relied upon week after week then we need to upgrade.

Bissouma isn't even on the list of players that need upgrading. He was incredible most every game until the suspension. He's getting back into form.

The only thing we need to do in midfield right now is replace both Skipp and Hojbjerg with one better all round option. We have Bentancur, Sarr, Maddison, Lo Celso who are all good options. If we get that player in then no need to upgrade on Bissouma. If he doesn't perform he'll lose his place to Bentancur/Sarr

Need a performance from this guy , not been the same since the sending off and no excuses for me . Feels like he’s been hiding on the pitch .

He was so astronomically good up until the Luton red card that many fail to notice when he is great, like yesterday.

First 5 games.

19 dribble attempts, 15 successful

Last 5 games.

8 dribble attempts, 6 successful.

What stood out for me at the start of the season was he was turning and beating his man for fun. Now seems a lot more reserved on the ball - or maybe teams are doing a better job of shutting him down?

Much harder fixtures the last 5 games compared to first 5 + we had our best XI first 5 and its been a mish mash half B side the last 5 games + fitness of all teams wasn't 100% start of season whereas teams are fitter now the season is nearly half way in + yes other teams might have slightly got used to Biss and our new style of play.

So in short fuck the stats and just enjoy watching him play and that he was back to his best yesterday.

I think Sarr just acts as a better support player to Bissouma than anyone else. Hojbjerg and GLC have their qualities but neither offer what Sarr does. It can't be pure coincidence that Bissouma's best game in a while came with Sarr alongside him.

I do think however that Bentancur might actually be more of a threat to Bissouma than Sarr when he comes back. Although the good thing is is that we could pick two from those three and have a very solid platform.
