One player I would like us to sign, despite Fulham not being bottom 5, is Dempsey. Yeah, he's got googly eyes and yeah, he has a rap video but still, kwalitee player.

Not really. Seemed like an honest question to me as opposed to "who can we cherry pick when they go down".

Not to mention it is only theoretical.

EDIT: Heh, sorry. Back on topic: Hoillett I would say

But why pick out the bottom 5? I hope the club don't look at things this way...just pick out potential players to sign irrespective of where they play, THEN deal with the feasibility...

Mark Davies - Bolton centre mid, very good player and young.

Oh christ no I'm all with you mate. The Hazards of the world are who I would like to be targeting (irrespective of realism).

Was only trying to answer the OP

Why would they? No doubt they'll be looking at players in clubs in many countries in many tiers. It's not an either or scenario.

This thread is based on a question posed by the OP. Noting more. No need to worry.

Robin Van persie

Not a bad shout. If Stoof had smurfed RVP at the beginning of the season he wouldn't have scored at all. (3 goalless games since smurfing after an average of a goal a game before proves this beyond any doubt).

If RVP had not scored this season Arsenal would be on 36 points. Level with West Brom, only 5 points above Blackburn.

Love Tottenham. Hate Stoof.

You got to include Peter Taylor as well.
Very probably. I did add an etc but I forgot he joined us that season. Jeez, gotta be worse than the Spam team that went down a decade or so ago.

Too good to go down - lol. No such thing.

No one I would be overly keen on signing really

This.

We have an overloaded squad as it is, bringing in 'squad fillers' would create issues for better quality signings, their room for inclusion as well as the pool of money available for wages.

Improvement before back up first, for me. Make the first team stronger then look to back it up. Two strikers is essential, we are still too profligate in front of goal, right wing back up and a CH. We may have a ready made one in caulker so that will help and I think we could, possibly go a while longer to get the right keeper, we still have options there for another season. RW is an essential for me too, Hazard being the preferred option.

After that, I really don't see where we could improve on the back up we already have, not with players who would be willing to come to us as bench warmers anyway.

Agreed, none of them are worthy of our squad really

Hoilett would be the closest, but I dont rate him that highly. We should be able to do better

Good additions and maybe stars for the future:
Hoilett
Fletcher
One or two from Wigan
Zat Knight
And surely someone who I don't remember right now

(May also take a look one division down..)

I would assume that it is a bad idea buying player's from relegated sides as they will be used to losing and lack the craved winning mentality - something we have lacked in recent weeks.

Victor Moses, he's still raw but he's better than Junior Hoilett.

He has that unpredictability that Bale and Lennon don't have.

Moses is impressing me every time I see clips of Wigan on MOTD. Need to watch him for 90 to really assess him though.

as an impact sub I would take chris eagles every day of the week and twise on sundays, he's got no stamina but he's got 20-30 minutes of trickery per week in him.

Can't see Bogdan being happy with being a back-up 'Keeper.
Me neither and for that reason, at Bolton he stays. Plus, the smell of piss and biscuits would be overpowering. Could prove a distraction during games.
