Its about how much it will put the shitters up Evra, who Lennon runs rings around everytime he plays. SAF will get the team sheet and see Lennon's name and think to himself fuck, as you can imagine a few of the players will who have to mark him.

If he comes off after 50 mins and he has wreaked havoc, it will be a great showing

If POTL is correct I would love to see

Gomes

Corluka Dawson King Bale

Lennon Palacios Huddlestone Modric

Defoe Pavyluchenko

with subs: Alnwick, Bassong, Assou-Ekotto, Crouch, Gudjohsen, Bentley, Jenas

its seems like you have missed the point. This whole thread is about how strong the Bale and ekotto partnership is and what you want to do is break it up? Last time we played with the above team (without Lennon/King) we were pretty shit and lost against Pompey. With Bale and BAE on the left we have beaten two out of the top 3 teams, and convincingly imho. Bale and BAE give the team much better balance, and I would rather have them then Modric and Huddlestone in midfield. For the sake of the team either Modric or Huddlestone needs to be dropped - this is under the assumption that Lennon and Palacios are fit to play.

If it isn't broken, then you don't need to fix it

What i'm saying is I think it should be broken up, yes they have worked great together but the team I named I feel has a better balance... it about opinions

How does it have better balance? two left footers playing on the left and Modric playing in the center. If you look at Capello's England teams he always prefers to have left sided players' playing on the left etc.. Bale is much better going forward than defending and the interchanging play between him and BAE is better than Bale and Modric. Modric is always drifting inside and as an attacking force our left side is then a lot weaker.

My opinion is that we can't drop Modric or Huddlestone and we need Palacios, Bale will still maraude forward whether he is at LB, Lw or even GK. Modric does help out the Lb when he is out wide so we should play the team who will cause the most problems. Just because Capello plays left footers on the left side and right footer on the right doesn't make it the only way to go about things. Messi is left footed and plays in from the right and Henry is right footed and plays in from the left.

I'm surprised that after coming off the back of 2 victories against top teams, not one person has suggested playing the same 11 who have played their hearts out!? I never thought Hud/Modders CM would be strong enough, but i think we've looked really solid, even against 5 man midfields.

Manure away is a different proposition, but i think the 11 that started on sat have more than earnt the right to have a pop at old trafford.......

I dont think Harry will split up the BAE/Bale left side at OT. Valencia has been excellent in the second half of the season and we will not get the best out of Bale if he is at LB with Modric in front of him if he has to contend with Valencia and (probably) Rafael on the right wing.

As said earlier in this thread, I think Palacios will come back in the centre or be on the bench to start.

This.

Shotgun you've got it into your head that Modric and Huddlestone cant be dropped, but your view is clouded for some reason? Maybe you dont rate BAE, or Huddlestone and Modric are your favourites; but for the sake of the team, we have played much better with BAE and Bale on the left - see the last two games - and therefore they should be starting against ManYoo.

I see it more a case of Modric/Palacios with Hudd in the middle....

The Hudd has been a revelation this season but every time he plays against ManYoo - with their quick passing and movement in midfield - he has been poor.

edit: but if we have Lennon and Bale fit I would play Huddlestone and Palacios for Hudds long range passing into space for Bale and Lennon to run onto.

I'm thinking of

---------------Gomes--------------
Corluka----Daws-------King------BAE
-------Palacios-----Hudd----------
Modric------------------------Bale
--------Pav--------Eidur----------

with Eidur dropping back into midfield when we defending and Pav defending from the front

Or I have a different view of what will benefit the teamand am not holding favourites...

I think someone posted that earlier in the tread and it looks like a good call. I'm not sure Harry will drop Defoe though and Lennon could be fit...

You may have not seen our last 3 matches - how is this a stupid question? I don't want you to changed your opinion, it sucks, but it is your opinion.
