We pay him 100g a week?
I'm pretty sure I read or saw quoted that spurs manager averages 5 mill a year so yeah I spose we do
We pay him 100g a week?
Surely this is another... Heap the pressure on spurs, as we typically bottle it with this type f pressure?
Redknapp days, Chelsea and England links came at a similar time... Saw us just turn into poor form.
Yeah I think the next is on something like 8 mill a year. So nearly double. Anyone know what Poch is on? If it's 2-3 mill he could very well be offered 7-8 mill.
That's bonkers
It still must be a first and I doubt anyone would offer poch tripple his salary even if he is great plus there is a good chance he will be offered a new deal in the summer.
Excellent post. I'm sure he's very happy here. And things are very rosy. You do have a little worry though, Man Utd come and say here's X amount salary and 200 mill to buy all the young players you want. I think the big thing is it would prob take him another 18 months to get even Utd where we are, and clubs just don't give that kind if time now. I think our case will be a lot stronger if we do make the champs league. Make no mistake though, the better we get, the more the so called big boys will come. Just as we take managers off teams below us in the pastI am certain he would never join Chelsea, even if Levy would let him go which he wouldn't. They are a club that sacked Mourinho twice and fired Ancelotti in a corridor a year after he won the double.
Man U......confident but not certain.
was listening to the Spurs Show podcast tonight and David Lammy was on. He said he was at a function recently and was sitting next to Fergie who said we have the best manager in the league. If Man U are about to sack LVG, does anyone think they wouldn't seek Fergie's opinion.
It boils down to a few things
On the other hand, they are Man U. That's all they have over us at the moment - huge name in world football.
- Is he comfortable with his relationship with levy - yes, by all accounts
- does he have the control over the club that he wants - total control if reports are to be believed.
- does he have the backroom staff that he wants - mitchell, mcdermott (who just turned down Man U).
- happy with progress, clear path to success? you bet
- Champions league football? More likely at Spurs than Man U.
- Long terms prospects - possible champions in May (there, I said it!!), and new stadium.
So again, confident, but not certain.

Have to ask though, why wouldn't Poch be on Man Utd short list? He's been nothing short of brilliant and very highly regarded. Knows the Prem ect now tooSurely this is another... Heap the pressure on spurs, as we typically bottle it with this type f pressure?

Yeah agree. Though not sure we can call ourselves bigger than Utd yet. They will be back in the mix as soon as they find a good manager!I'm not certain but think the thing I saw had us down as the 5th highest paid managers job with poch on 5
So I guess upping that to 7 for the right person which he seems to me to be would pretty much take the leaving for cash thing out of the equation as that's pretty much up there with some of the highest paid managers in the world bar silly citeh
Just as an also to your other post if we finish the season in the top three there isn't any bigger fish doing better than us at present or with better squads surely?
Offering someone a job via their lawyer ? I don't buy it. I know this is a shocking allegation, but I think they may have made this story up without researching properly. Not saying it is but would probably be Poch's Lawyer.
We'd have to win the league for 10 years straight before the media would consider us "Bigger" than Utd, and that would likely be based on how many clicks (ad sales) are generated from articles on us in said media. That'd also be roughly the minimum time for us to gain enough international fans and plastics to overtake how many worldwide fans Utd have, by Spurs being an unstoppable powerhouse for 10 years straight in all competitions (I'd settle for just PL and CL).Yeah agree. Though not sure we can call ourselves bigger than Utd yet. They will be back in the mix as soon as they find a good manager!
A lot of good points but you forgot the biggest factor: Money. If Utd offer him silly money he might think it too good to turn down. Utd have been very loose with their chequebook since Fergie left and it wouldn't surprise me if they offered him a stupid amount.I am certain he would never join Chelsea, even if Levy would let him go which he wouldn't. If he continues on the path he's on, those offers will always be there, and it'll look better on his CV if he see's the journey through with us until we've/he's got some actual success that can be measured in cups/medals etc.A lot of good points but you forgot the biggest factor: Money. That said, he does seem genuinely happy here, and there's a chance Levy would break the bank to keep such a crucial part of our current project.

the football gods would have a sick sense of humor of Poch were tempted by the Mancs and we were stuck with Maureen...don't think it will happen to be honest "In Poch we Trust"Mourinho to United a done deal apparently
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/jose-mourinho-sure-manchester-united-7339747
United legend Bryan Robson, meanwhile, has urged the club to appoint Ryan Giggs instead of Mourinho.
'Ryan really can be the Guardiola of United, I am sure of it,'
A bunch of phonies, the Man Ure fans. I still remember many of them predicted Poch would get fired before the end of the last season.
Yeah agree. Though not sure we can call ourselves bigger than Utd yet. They will be back in the mix as soon as they find a good manager!
