For anybody thinking that having a plan B is Pochettino's job, you are wrong. Of course it would have been his job if the transfer window was open for long enough, but seeing as it wasn't, a plan B is outside of Pochettino's job brief.

plan B would have been to speed things up at the expense of losing possession.
And one of the ways of doing that is Lloris to lump the ball.

Trouble is MP has selected a small team who prefer the ball on the ground.
Also that possession is our main defensive strategy. When teams come at us now, we look to concede, with no DM, a rookie rb, and a RCB playing as a LCB.
And for an experienced international LB, Rose doesn't detect danger as he should.
They don't look well coached either this season - early days though.

Tottenham fans are a bit precious about things like this, but Lloente and even Adebayor gave us a genuine plan B. It was shit, but often worked.

Marcelo Bielsa once said said, "I only believe in Plan A. Plan B is to get Plan A to work."

We don't look good & its looking rather devoid of dynamism and inspiration. I recall our 4-0 home victory versus WBA on 14th January 2017 & remember almost welling up with pride because this resembled the perfect vision of how we ought to play: fast, inventive & devastating. It was quite brilliant.

Our last home game was the furthest thing from it. It was dire.

I know it will be unpopular, but if the season were to end with a whimper, then Levy ought to consider the gaffer's future. Its been 6 years & no winners medal of any real importance. Champions League was the 1st step, but it doesn't seem like we've moved on.

Last season had no transfers, but I can't help but think that had Pep been in charge, or even Bielsa we might well have been more exciting to watch & possibly won a cup.

I want it to get better & hope the gaffer can resurrect the positivity & dynamism we sorely lack.
Although ironically Leeds fell away at Easter this year. Nevertheless, I do agree that if we end up not progressing this season then this might ring alarm bells for Levy. 'Progression' is subjective though - it could just mean starting to look like a team playing with intent rather than the uninspired team that we have at the moment.

Always makes me laugh, this plan B stuff, as no matter your pedigree as a coach, your options are always simple.

Plan A:- Define your own style and philosophy as a manager or coach, develop various tactics, training ground drills, adapt and tinker systems to fit your players, team and opponents until it's a fine art.

Plan B:- Facking lump it!

Forgive me for being a bit dim, but isn't Poch the coach/manager. Isn't it his job to tell the powers that be which players he wants, which players he wants to keep etc. Didn't Levy just back him entirely with HIS chosen players? He supposedly knew our weaknesses and the players he may not have this year?
but has Levy really backed him. What happened to Dybala?

Honestly I'd like to know what our plan A is, at least when it comes to our tactics.

Hmm, that was opportunistic, wasn't it? A bit like Jurgen Klinsmann was. We never set out to get him. Disappointed we didn't, but was never our target to begin with.

When Kane got injured last season, we did reasonably well with Son up front as a false nine. It's good to have options on the bench, but one of the good things about the Dybala link was the idea we were moving away from having a purely 'reserve' option if Kane couldn't play. For one thing, as brilliant as he is, Kane shouldn't be undroppable. But another thing is we should be able to mix it up and have plenty of options to tweak a system or personnel to follow that earlier comment that Plan B is to get Plan A working. I'd certainly welcome another out-and-out attacker that can play with and replace Kane and Son as needed.

This is absolutely nonsense.

When we played Real, Man City, Dortmund and Barca last season we played a completely different way to how we play normally. We sit deep and play the ball in to feet but fast and more direct.

The problem is that we're not playing plan A very well

The fact people somehow claim we are a better team without Harry Kane is evidence that we do indeed have a plan b.
