Indeed but that's at top speed on not on grass. Also a sprinter will on average reach top speed at around 55-60m. It's very rare for football players ever to be sprinting above that distance, and they'd need to be doing at least 65-70m to gauge their true top speed, which would be the only way to measure them to a sprinter .

Was clocked at 35.87 kph whilst in the Bundesliga last season as well, so perhaps the inconsistency spans international borders? Not to mention there are numerous players all over Europe that have been clocked at over 35, and in some cases well over. Bale for instance was clocked at 36.9 at his peak.

Who knows perhaps you can run a bit faster when you haven't got half an armchair strapped to your shoulders and a Motorcycle helmet on your noggin, but ya know, GO TEAM USA and all that........

It's very normal that the fastest PL runs are clocked around that. Dier has done 35 in the past, Moussa Sissoko 35.3
Kyle Walker had the highest in PL last season 37.31, Brennan Johnson was second at 36.70
Danjuma did 36.34 in our shirt

There's a difference between the club / manager not caring about how many starts a player gets and that player not caring. How do you propose that we convince a "top quality" CB to join when we already have Romero & VDV?

The "big" clubs get around this with the lure of almost guaranteed trophies and by paying inflated wages. I believe Man City currently has six defenders on higher wages than our top paid defender (Romero).

FWIW I don't consider Chalobah to be a "top quality" CB. If he's wanting to leave Chelsea due to a lack of playing time, he's probably got enough common sense to know his situation wouldn't be much better here once Romero & VDV are avaialble.

Very possible that Chalobah sees himself as an equal or better than Romero, and with Romero's suspension record, any CB coming in would know they will get the chance to play and prove themselves.

Wouldn't be against Chalobah. Decent player from what I've seen and ticks various other boxes. Probably prefer Lloyd Kelly but Romero needs competition too.
