I have to say i find his thinking odd here, you'd think if we won it then it would make him hungry to win more, not quit to start again somewhere else.

I dont think it's that odd really. I've discussed this before quite a few times actually, if we ever did win the league or the CL then I can very well see why some players, and even the manager, might think that's a perfect way to sign off. We're not a club that's guaranteed trophies every season, and for some of them it's been a multi-year journey now trying to reach the summit.

All the players talk about improving every year, so if you win a trophy one year, aim to win two or more the next year. If a player doesn't find that a motivation then what are they thinking?

That's worrying. I always thought of Poch had having Ferguson type drive and wanting to win more and create a legacy.

I'm almost glad we didn't win. But if I was Levy I would be succession planning cos if win UCL, we are fcuked.

He said he may have quit, not that he would have.

I'm going by what type of person he is I reckon he would have considered it but ultimately not gone through with it, he's well tied in with this project and the club.

Me too. So, if he had gone to RM or Bayern or whatever, if they then won the CL would he be off again? I'd have thought that the definition of success would be to build a team that won stuff consistently, not a one off triumph which could always be viewed as a flash in the pan.

If you can find the whole presser I thought it was, for the most part, pretty weird, as a fan listening there wasn't a great deal of positivity to take from it. As ever, first presser of the tour and it just creates more questions, and we haven't kicked a ball yet.

He sure does like to create an air of uncertainty around his future.

Great. Let's hope we don't win anything. A very very strange thing to say. Wants to build a ManU type legacy. You don't get that with winning one trophy, all be it, the CL. Sorry, I want more commitment than that. I love the Poch, but I am not happy with those comments.

Then why say it? It serves no purpose other than create uncertainty.

He’s getting on my nerves with these kind of comments tbh.

If he had won the champions league and then quit, I’d have been highly disappointed with him as he should have still been looking to push on and win the league and heck, even the FA cup with us (which seems to have been downgraded massively in priority these days).

Exactly!

Sir Alex kept ploughing on and added a second champions league win under his belt.

You also don’t see Klopp saying hey I’ve won the champions league with Liverpool, ain’t gonna get no better than that I’m off!

The whole point of how we’re doing things is to be trying to get consistency and building.

He says things for affect, maybe to motivate the players/maybe to keep the board on their toes - I'm not sure but he has his methods of managing expectations and I'm sure there's a deeper meaning to his comments.

Look the man lies all the time, how many times has he mentioned he wants to finish his career at Spurs, how many times have we heard that he will sign a lifetime contract if it were handed to him... Doesn't really tie into this latest quote does it.

You shouldn't read into his comments too much.
